increase the price of the subscription... it is like how prices was 25 years ago, with inflation and everything... it should add up.

They don't want to raise it, that's the thing. That's why we have paid additional retainers and Mog Station cosmetics.
And let's be real, you know that people will complain until the end of the world if main subscription goes higher. They already complain that it's expensive as it is.
"Surely this will make devs actually care for us! right?!" lmao, it doesn't matter when all that money goes to other projects. They are already earning more than enough from their stupid cash shop where they milk players daily.
No. And I am not being facetious. The answer is no.
You can speak more than Japanese of course as localizers do, but Japanese is apparently a base requirement to work directly on XIV. That said, I am basing this on a quote from Yoshi P. It would be kind of mind boggling if they have not contracted out some work on certain things pertaining to things like asset design. But there are other things I would think could work with translated communications like say, a quest writer, or someone who works on the audio, etc. His statement was broad like "People all over the world want to help develop XIV but knowing Japanese is a hindrance for most people.."

Unfortunately SE is a second-rate developer that cannot actually attract talent in 2025.These "challenges" are not real challenges but self inflicted problems caused by a completely incompetent management. All problems which FF14 has are solvable with more money. If they do not have enough money then because the management threw it out of the window. Nobody wanted a game like Forspoken, which cost them over 75 millions USD. Then there are very questionable decisions, they made for FF14. Why is this game still based on DirectX 11? Microsoft discontinued this API in January 2013(!) and talked openly about it. They knew, that this API is dead and they did nothing. And you can assume, that the rest of the FF14 infrastructure is equally outdated. And now they complain, that they do not find any game developers for such an ancient sh*t? Seriously?
They will have to invest a serious amount of ressources into the game, otherwise the competition will eat them up. The technical residue is huge compared to other games.
Cheers

I have a nagging feeling I've seen you somewhere. Are you that annoying troll with an endless amount of alt accounts with almost all of them being the same-looking Highlander?
