Why can't I place a glamour dresser in my house?

The fact that you still need to travel to an inn room just to access and change your clothes, despite owning a house, is very silly. If I own a house then I shouldn't need to use an inn room anymore, let alone for such a basic function. I can do everything else in my house, but this feature is missing, and travelling back and forth is becoming quite frustrating.

I heard that a while ago the developers tried to implement a dresser in player housing, and that apparently it caused issues if the dresser was moved by another player while in use. It's that's true... then why not fix that instead of just giving up? Why not just make the dresser immovable while it's being used? That seems like it'd be the simplest solution.

This issue with moving doesn't happen with other interactable objects which store hundreds of items, such as the retainer bell or armoire, so I just don't believe it's impossible to make the dresser work. Like I said, simply make it immovable while in use if necessary.

If there are problems with the code behind the dresser, then redo that code - maybe it's also the reason we don't have enough plates or storage space. Are the developers afraid of offending the person who originally programmed it 10 years ago? If so, then respectfully, improving the game should take priority over sparing that person's feelings.

It's getting a bit ridiculous that this basic feature still hasn't been implemented in 2025. Core game features like this should be top priority, even before adding new content.

I could see one solution to the crashing problem described would be to give a game warning to the person(s) moving the FC chest and denying them while someone is accessing it. So the only way to move it is when no one is accessing it, I would think this could be done.

They could do the same thing that happens when you're gposing and you enter combat - boot you out as soon as someone opens the housing menu to the step where they could move the dresser. Annoying? Yes, but maybe that'd make people consider who their tenants get to be more carefully lol

Adding this missing feature would help to incentivize players to visit and use their houses, which presently could use a bit more unique functionality. Also, bump.

Someone awhile back proposed a similar idea, but they could make it an additional room to FC housing and apartment buildings that functions like an inn room, with maybe just a glam dresser, armoire and crystal bell in there and call it the dressing room. Of course, they’d have to apply the additional rooms to personal housing as well to be fair, so I’m all for that! lol

That would be an incredible quality of life improvement! Maybe with the housing updates they're planning to (eventually... I hope...) implement we can pave the way for something like that.

That would be great, how about just making all homes have the same functions as a FC plot, it should make it easier to code all things housing if all plots share the same underlying architecture?? I would honestly give up my FC plot if my personal homes could have FC rooms for my alts and tenants and the workshop along with this proposed dressing room concept you're proposing.

I imagine it does that because there's technically no guarantee the house will exist, or be owned by you, when you log back in - but surely they could solve that by adding a simple IF statement that runs upon logging in to check those things before deciding where to spawn you.
