Level 1 mobs which he one shotted............ the party it self didn't kill anything. He was just showing off stuff.
Level 1 mobs... Level 10 mobs... Level 50 mobs... They WILL be in the game.. NOT just level 1.. Ugh!
Your not a FF fan bro @.@What's wrong with having everything equally as good? I would much rather do grind parties then a stupid questline, seriously, I don't think I'm asking for much.
self-directed gameplay is more interesting than doing what some nobody farmer tells you to for no reason. Maybe you dont want to help him kill 10 marmots or whatever other bullshit.
Maybe for you and Mr. Vinland.. but I sure as heck don;t wanna be in 1 spot just killing to my head explodes "All the damn time" It is Boring!
So...instead of wanting to be an adventurer, who wanders the land for adventure and seeing if people need help...you'd rather just be some lunatic who runs all over the place looking for things to kill.
That's how serial killers start out...
Open world grinding is not self-directed.
The developer controls mob populations and respawns just the same as the do the number of floating exclamation points.
Choosing between the two or three camps for your exp range is the same as choosing between a handful of quests. You follow the trail the developers want you to and get as much exp per hour as they allow you to.
The thing is, Yoshida has said from the onset that he's making a fan service theme park game. If you go to Disney, they don't tell you you absolutely must ride It's a Small World for seven hours before you can do anything else.
As has been explained to this chicken little many times: yes, mob grinding isn't the most efficient means of gaining exp, but nor is just spamming quests. The devs want people to mix it up and use all sorts of methods to break up the monotony.

Nooo way, all it is is Kill x mobs, run back, kill x more mobs run back. Why does talking to npcs give more exp than actually FIGHTING? You are going to be mindlessly killing mobs, why not just STAY in one spot so I don't have to run back and forth. Also, lets not forget how DULL those quests are. If grinding on a mob takes skill and teamwork I'll take that over anything else any day!
