Why do you even bother? Since the start of the forums a year ago and the video presentation of 2.0 its quite obvious that yoshi-p does not want this game to follow XI's footsteps. You have the right to like XI and even to think it was the best mmo ever but based on facts XI did not appeal to many people. It was a very small niche who played that game.

So putting yourself in the shoes of the producer with all the pressure of higher management to make this a bit success, will you go back to grind parties who appealed to very few people or a formula that reached millions of players?

I'm quite happy with Yoshi-p's direction and so is most of people who saw the recent 2.0 news. Yoshi-p is on the right track and so let him do what he knows because he knows better than you.


I'd take ! Quests leading me from area to another over stupid and repetitive grind parties and mindless quests that take you from X to all the way to the other side of the world so you can talk to one NPC and come back. WOW was successful because they understood what the MAJORITY think is fun and enjoyable. Its simple and Yoshi-P got that so god bless him.

I notice that:

- He posts more on his Threads that he does in other threads
- When he feels like he's "Right" he posts back to back comments
- When the comment that was posted stuck his heart he ignores the post and other answers to posts that he can win
- When his Thread is totally against him, he stops posting and makes a new thread.

You can still grind if you want, all that was said on the topic was that it will no longer Be the main means of leveling up. There is a HUGE difference. He has stated 1000 times that it will be a game for every type of player: if you still want to go grind for xp I bet you still can. Stop spreading disinformation that has zero basis in fact. This op should be called: "ffxiv to not be identicle to ffxi" . Big surprise, it's 2 different games. Why don't we actually play the game first before making threads like this

Some will do as current grind , some will do it this way.

What I'd like to know is.... who are all these people that are against all these frivolous things you complain about? Cause all I see in your threads are people, in the most polite way they can, telling you to shut up already.

Also, according to the last poll, only 3% of players post frequently here. These threads mean nothing and will accomplish nothing. Your complaints, though they might make you feel better by putting them out there any chance you get, won't make a dent in any head developer's plan. The reason for this is you never have a thoughtful message. It's just a brain fart. You wouldn't be taken seriously even if it was a good idea or a good point in opposition.

For all the bitching and moaning the OP and other people on the forums do, they are still here. After a year of seeing where this game is headed, they haven't left.

Ask yourself this: If you will sit here and suffer through all of these changes that the game is now seeing and will see in the future, if you will still pay to play the game when so much of it bothers you... Why should SE change their minds for you? They are adding content that will have the greatest appeal to a wider audience, and even though you dislike the changes, you won't leave.

Consumers vote with their money, in case you weren't aware - and you who complain yet pay to play month after month are the perfect examples of why SE is making the right decision. You will eat anything they toss at you, no matter how disgusting it tastes, but the fact of the matter is that you are a minority and most people enjoy the taste. As disturbing as this might sound, SE will make more money just ignoring you and appealing to a wider audience.

They haven't sold their souls, it is still a Final Fantasy, just adapted to fit the (modern) MMO mold.

These threads just seem to be you asking a pretty generalized question based on what you believe is absolute fact (e.g. the translation of a fragment in an interview is not an absolute fact), and you slam or argue the point with anyone whom tries to tell you different.

On Topic:
Face it; the game is changing. If you do not like where it is heading, leave it. You might want FFXIV to succeed but suffice it to say; you are not SE nor are you a part of it. You're a consumer using a product. If your ISP is not up to your standard I would assume or hope that you would seek an alternative provider.

SE is not going to change what they have planned now, so why bother posting such a thread?

I do, infact I'm open to idea that aren't "if you don't like it don't use it" "Deal with it"

Also, as I stated in this thread, i'd be stupid to think that they would change it now, all I'm trying to ask right now is it not to be the main good source of leveling, I want others just to be as good. quest leveling = mob grinding.

The other people on here are not up for that, nor say, OK that's cool, as long as I get my quest grinds you can have your mob grinding. I infact didn't even say take out quests(ok probably did, but meh), just want more options.

That to me makes it sound like you want something changed.

Wait for it to come out. That's what the rest of us are doing.

Hell, we're not even in 2.0 BETA testing phase yet; they may adjust exp values yet.

Isn't the leve system a similar setup in reality? Based on similar principles?
