I'm happy with it as well. Had a blast the other night. There's a reason for my friends and I to have pvp night.
Playing with friends is fun, SE. Did you hear that?
Only took a few years. :skull:
makes it easier for CC to ahve more fun and stragety. Especially people who can't find 10 people for a custom 5v5. Also helps motivate people to que and face each other suddenly

It's fun. I agree. Just not fun when you run against 2 premades that are smurfs and just run down your team who are first timers.
yeah it's why I still do it even after level 30
If Feast could endure duo premade in 4vs4, you can endure duo premade in 5vs5. In Feast I had 85-95% winrate as healer in matches. In casual CC I am happy if I can get above 50% tbh lol. To me it is questionable if duo would help me that much, you still will be at the mercy of the remaining 3 players pressing their buttons or not.
Yep exactly this. You can be best healer but it can only do much. There have been plenty of cases where I have biggest dps as a healer... that tells you quality of matches. If Feast could endure duo premade in 4vs4, you can endure duo premade in 5vs5. But devs decided its time to nerf WHM. I used to at least make bots alive enough so we can somehow win. But now its even less possible. Legit why play this when you can play scholar and be better at everything.
I 100% agree with this.
It's genuinely great to see so many people having a positive experience with this. The OP is right being able to queue with a friend and coordinate on even a basic level completely transforms the mode from a chaotic dice roll into something that actually feels like strategic, team-based PvP.
This change proves the most important point: players want to play together and they want to coordinate. The fun doesn't come from just winning; it comes from how you win by working as a team, calling out strategies, and executing plans with someone you know.
Which is why it's so frustrating that this experience is completely walled off from Ranked, and worse, actively sabotaged by the forced silence.
Think about it:
You can have this amazing, coordinated duo experience in Casual, but the moment you want to take that teamwork into a competitive environment, the game says no. You're forced back into solo queue and stripped of your ability to communicate. It's a fundamental contradiction.
This is directly tied to the dead MMR problem others have mentioned. Ranked queues die because the mode is isolating and unrewarding. It has none of the social glue that keeps people queuing. Allowing Solo/Duo in Ranked would inject a massive burst of consistent players into the pool, directly combating the dead zones that form in Platinum and Diamond.
But it's not just about queuing together. It's about playing together. Forced chat restrictions are a catastrophic failure for a so-called "competitive" mode. You cannot have a team-based game where coordination is key and then remove all tools for coordination. The solution to toxicity is moderation, not amputation.
