When expansion ends, they tend to abandon nearly everything and everyone. Then, when people ask for a feature or fix, they say, "We can do it, but it would not generate sales, so we won't". The game is suffering now a death from many cuts, heavily exposed by Dawntral, so maybe, just maybe, they could spend a week cleaning the old stuff, and another week to add little things here and there?
Each patch is a few hours, and then we are back to doing old stuff or some current grind, but still powered by old content. There is no content a patch provides that would suffice, so don't focus solely on current expansions.
- Fates and side quests should give way more exp for leveling alt jobs
- Allow to queue/spam roulettes as all jobs / jobs in need (select tank/healer gear set and queue) and let the server pick (tank is listed as in-need, but healer pops noticeably quicker?).
- Migrate old fates to bicolor gemstones and add vendors; or make leves that can reward mob crafting resources to always reward it outside of the random reward.
- Improve rewards from roulettes, especially job-in-need - give exp tokens to use on other jobs or "loot boxes" that can cover materia (even DoH/DoL), crafting, or other aspects of the game.
- Uncap Novice Network more and allow easy joining, possibly add similar channels for server calls on A/S-ranks, help needed etc. (it's fun to call in the mentors to hit La Noscean topsoil to spawn an S-Rank). The game feels more alive and natural when we talk to each other.
- Redo Coils to fit as a normal raid or as a sort of variant dungeon? and add it to roulettes. (redo Prae even more?)
- From time to time, add new zones to oceanic fishing, add some cool weapon model or armor set based on old ones, to the old relic grind process (like ARR...)
- allow some sort of reply if a Free Trial player gets a /tell whisper.
- remove HW gathered stuff that has no use any more
- maybe remove cooldown on low level ARR maps?
And the list could go on, each player having their own long list... Not to mention "technical limitations" in the game (and some/most solved by the mobile version of the game ! )
