May I ask who specifically wrote the lore and storyline on Wuk Lamat?
May I ask who specifically wrote the lore and storyline on Wuk Lamat?
I liked Wuk; she liked tacos and I like Tacos, she liked the Axe and I like the Axe.... like the rest of the MSQ she was better before 7.0
the writers just could not follow through with the character that they put too much weight on in the end J:
the voice actor was fine too she portrayed the chara fine it gave me this warrior hopeful that gets in over her head but means well.
we'll ignore the foolishness of the actress outside of the game.
Probably the same person who wrote the rest of Dawntrail's lore and storyline.
You can ask, but we don't actually have an answer.
We have a gloopy pile of about thirty or forty 'scenario designers' credited for Dawntrail, and while we were previously told that one person was the 'lead writer' for Dawntrail (that'd be Daichi Hiroi, who previously wrote Pandaemonium, Black Mage, and was the one collaborating with Matsuno for the Ivalice and Bozja stories), and we know that Ishikawa had editorial control and Banri Oda was doing his usual lore thing, the truth is we don't know how many cooks are in how many kitchens for any given part of Dawntrail, and chances are good that we won't. We actually know only a few scattered details about XIV's writing process, and in fact, learning about Daichi Hiroi before Dawntrail was officially announced kinda showed how little we knew, because we suddenly had a concrete credit for several stories that were otherwise anonymous, and often mistakenly attributed to others; Pandaemonium especially felt like such an Ishikawa story until we learned that it straight-up isn't one.
Especially for a character as far-reaching as Wuk Lamat, it'd be folly to attribute all of it to just one or two people; there's a lot of parts to that package, and chances are some people that we'll never hear about contributed some really important parts to it. So while we could simplify it down to 'Daichi Hiroi wrote Wuk Lamat', in truth, you won't find one single person to exalt or indict for her entire story.

Thanks for your responds Cleretic, in such I'm grateful for your input.
Absolutely convenient of us to pin it on One person; that is Mr Daichi Hiroi. That I solely have disagree one to many times. Mr Hiroi has done a great job in the writing of the MSQ. Even his past writings are well written. I ask in lieu of trying to understand certain flow of the managing of the story, Not to point blame. As I am well aware of all the recent negative publicity, In which our beloved game isn't new to such criticism. The only criticism I have of the story is really that it doesn't have the same flow as it use to be; I have said before; it felt almost like it's written by 2 different writers halfway through.
I had an absolute good ride watching the unfolding of all the criticism that were actively published in the forum. It pinpoints a myriad of mentally and river of engineered opinions, hence giving me a good sight of how more to expect. As such they did a good job camouflaging what contributions have gone in the writings and creation of a character like Wuk Lamat and also ignore a sidekick that is Koana. I actually have never seen a more confounding development and localisation of a character than Wuk Lamat. I don't care whatever choice of portrayal it is meant to be. Everything that surrounds the start to the public animadversion of its character is beyond bizarre nonetheless almost intentional. What is even more bizarre is that it caused a player vs developer vs player base of social media vilification; And this but a game character which led on to some real life condemnation of political narratives and social disparities.
They have moved out of their comfort zone too quickly! But I suspect some of them have ran out of inspirations. I'd rather go back to Ascians and Medieval Dark Fantasy. It was fun until the next chess move. It gives me time to play their other games like Tactics Ogre. Cheerios.
I mean, this is a perfectly solid possibility.
I'd caution not to jump to any conclusions or to use it to denigrate any part of the game, but this has been something they've done in the past: we know Stormblood had different lead writers for the Ala Mhigan and Far East sides, back in ARR we know that Ishikawa led the Coerthas Central Highlands writing, and dividing by region or zone would be a perfectly reasonable division of duties even now. We don't actually have any evidence of this, but I'd find it completely unsurprising if Tural and Alexandria had different writing teams.
This is actually a problem with FFXIV's credits in general. I still see most of FFXIV's music attributed to Soken, despite his promotion to a managerial position years ago and most of FFXIV's music now being done by a whole team. The insane genre variety we've gotten since EW is because of that.
That goes for every section of the development team. The only combat designer we collectively know by name is Masaki Nakagawa, or Mr. Ozma, for example.
I mean, this happens with every video game dev team. We just mentally shortcut down to the names we know and have heard, and assume everyone else just... isn't important; that if we know a name it must be because they're the name to know. This is actually a problem with FFXIV's credits in general. If anything we kinda do better than most. We know four writers, and a combat designer! Meanwhile think of how many people simplify Metal Gear down to 'Kojima'.
