It's weird. The NPCs are all at OC, but zero part of the new quests can be done there.
The five items you need to deliver, 1 is bought from an NPC in city for gil, another item is bought for bicolor gemstones, and then 3 are crafted from gathered materials.
Then after this, you have to farm light.
And non of it is using OC at all.

From what I've seen on light farm, the level of the duty gives a base Light, then the daily bonus adjust for it, giving you around 700-850. If you get a low level duty the bonus will be higher (Titania gave around 134 base, 600 bonus), while a high level duty gives high base, low bonus (Jeuno gave around 700 base, 100 bonus).
So you can try to farm it, but it has to be roulette and you might get a lot of low level instances and low payout without bonus. Else it should take around a couple of weeks if you do the dailies for the bonus.

Nahh, I don't have any leveled and I don't want to spend 1 mil gil on the mb just to begin playing.

I am only throwing my objection in when people act like leveling crafters takes an extreme amount of work when you can simply do it on the side with custom deliveries and Ishgard and it helps you with things like repairs or materia also so it isn't even a closed of system.

There is no F U when crafting is so accessible. We are not talking about an ultimate here after all.

No, it make no sense to make new content that requires nothing from the zone it's related to or even content from the expansion it came from. I see a lot of people bringing up "ARR relics" but ARR relics came from all ARR content at the time, this does not. It's a glorified EW grind honestly because it's just do old content, not even content released in the past year, unless you just happen to get that roulette. I should be able to get it from Forked Tower runs or OC, honestly.

Already watched prices on one of the dark matter items fall off a cliff like 2 hours after release and it'll only get worse as more people log in and add to the supply while less people actually need it since it's a one time step
this marketboard in game is incredible. i'm trying to sell one of the dark matters rn and ever 8 seconds someone's undercutting me by anywhere from 1gil to 20k hoooooooly crap daddy chill

What nonsense. the whole point of moving away from tomestone grind is so that we don't need to spam duty roulette 24/7 (even if you could get tomestones from hunt trains more efficiently)

I don't think that just because ARR did it makes it free from criticism.

Never said that it makes it free from criticism but some people here act like YoshiP shot their dog because crafting is involved.

Well I guess I'll sell the stuff I got and quit the quest as this is to much of a hassle. I'm not going to sit here for hours power leveling a crafting job or two.
