How do you keep having fun with your job(s)?

Nope. There's no way. They've been on a path of dumbing things down and now they pivot!? If their goal was to return jobs to a state where there isn't homogeneity they wouldn't have nerfed Black Mages' complexity. It's clear what their intentions are.

And this is coming from a casual who doesn't do hard content and knows fuck all about class balance or playing correctly. And even my dumbass can see it.

I love the game forever, I love doing every possible content but, I feel like I don’t have a main job anymore. Now as we all know, that’s what makes this game interesting, the freedom to switch classes whenever we want but, this 2 min meta made everything boring to me?

I appreciate BRD mechanics a lot, PLD feels fluid (I consider it as my "main" job), and SCH is only interesting to me because of how janky it is but that’s basically “it”. I’m still bored playing PvE, where PvP is so fun and way more interesting.

So, basically, how are you still having fun with your main job if you got one? I enjoy BRD because it’s not your basic 1-2-3 but like, it’s still BRD you know, I’m not a fan of its aesthetic. If you have any recommendations about jobs that doesn’t feel like 1-2-3 combo, I’ll take notes.

More seriously, I've taken to seeing just how far I can push the job solo, which breaks me out of the 2 minute meta. I started out nice and easy with a Palace of the Dead run (and died on floor 98, after some awful luck on the 91+ floor set with bad debuffs and running low on time and getting impatient.)

I've taken up gunbreaker in roulettes for a change of pace, and also to pick away at the GNB achievements.

I keep SMN in my back pocket as my brain dead DPS job when I don't have the mental fortitude to heal or tank, and SCH as my main healer for the same reason as you (janky and therefore challenging, but also I know how to extract maximum value from its tool kit since it hasn't changed much since Shadowbringers.)

I've accepted I don't have an "official" main and tend to rotate between various jobs I like and tend to focus on one of those for a patch or two. I've mostly been playing Black Mage recently, though still actively play White Mage, Astro, and Viper. 7.0 until 7.2 I was mainly playing Picto, Scholar, Astro, and Dancer. As you can see, I just rotate haha.

How are you enjoying monk that much? It feels so handholding now. I loved it before what they did to it. It required actual thoughts and optimisation (for XIV standards) which was nice.

Now you only press the shiny buttons and job plays for you. Such a frustrating waste to me.

gods you and me both.... so many jobs I was enjoying great or fine in EW just lost all fun once DT dropped, calling DT monk a handholding job is right on the money and exactly my biggest issue too.

I don't know. I level everything, but I've been playing Bard since 2013 and I'm still playing it. It's still my main. RIP Bow Mage.

Its the final compium. DDR is reaching a dead end. At some point it will be everyone moving in all directions while spamming 1 button.

They need to turn the car around before its too late. Or launch a new game thats actually an RPG.
