Why are they wasting time on ffxiv fan festival ?

The months between patch updates is getting longer .just like wow we are paying more money for less content in each new expansion in ffxiv and the solution of development team is to close their eyes and waste time and money on these festivals instead of you know actually work on the game?

I know it is a troll and bait thread but:

The ticket price for the fan fest is the same as any other activity that would have been at that location.
So they most likely do not lose money, they probably even make a lot because there are merch stores.

And having key employees fly out to some fair or conference for a couple of weeks is a indutry standard everywhere in big companys.
It is fun to get away from the routine once in a while to learn and make connections on these conferences, while being paid.
The Fan fest is just a conference for few devs to connect with the costumer and to talk about the progress of the work.

Agree! they should've just spent time returning all the feast rewards by selling it as wolf collars. and selling all the STATUE EMOTES in mog station. that could've made more FUNDS for SE. and more ACTIVE players grinding on pvp
