Back Up Client and Character Settings

I encountered the following problem: I restored the settings that I saved on the server in January. But they were not restored as they were. Many hotbars were not displayed, the map transparency settings were disabled. Mouse reverse was enabled. What could be the reason for this? I have used this restore function before and everything was perfect.

The server backup and restore feature is designed to save and restore most hotbar, HUD, gear set, and macro data. However, please note that not every setting is included in the server backup. Certain display preferences (such as map transparency, mouse inversion, and other UI elements) may not always transfer as expected.

We recommend the following:

- Confirm you are restoring on the same platform (Windows/Steam/PlayStation), as settings do not transfer cross-platform.

- Adjust the missing settings manually, then perform a new backup to refresh your server-side data with the most up-to-date configuration.

- For additional security, we suggest creating a local backup by copying the Documents → My Games → FINAL FANTASY XIV folder. This ensures that your personal settings are preserved, even if server backups do not capture everything.
