That is not going to happen. It didn't happen with the content drought in EW, I saw the same posts two years ago about "maybe there's a 6.6 patch in the works!" It didn't happen then, it's 99.9% likely that's not going to happen now. There would literally have to be some sort of fundamental shift in philosophy from CSIII for that to occur, and that's highly unlikely.

Prepare yourself for a full year with no content.

Wonder if they are going to release 7.55 later than usual to try and space things out, or if “whirlwind pace” means they’re going to try and rush 8.0 to January ‘27 as some are speculating… if so, let’s hope they get their QA under control!

Best-case scenario is 2 years and 6 months now, potentially stretched to 3 years. In the next expansion we'll be getting 21-week patches, with poorly implemented difficulty sliders and less content overall.

The dates freak me out a bit, too. I'm really glad a new Pokemon comes out in a couple months, but it looks like 2026 might be a gaming back log year.

I just hope that the savage release is not during christmas, new years or easter.
