I'm not usually one to outright criticise when it comes to these matters....

but I really do wish that once, just once, YoshiP would stop making ambiguous statements . "Major future plans which we'll be rolling out at a whirlwind pace". That tells us absolutely nothing.

The problem is Yoshi P and team know we can deduce the 8.0 release based on fanfest scheduling, so they know folks are going to be collectively losing their shit as they realize 8.0 might not drop until Summer 2027. They should get ahead of that, but they rather stick their heads in the sand and just let the community go negative. But who am I kidding? They ignore all negativity anyway. If you were to ask Yoshi P, DT was beloved and some of the best content we've ever head.

Honestly, a game director who uses the words "amazing character" when describing WL is too out of touch with reality to have any business being a game director.

I mean yeah it will be 2027 because of how delayed patches are. Most likely summer 2027 will be 8.0. So enjoy your no-content game till then. Please look forward to it! Hope you like 4 months patches and when we say content is going to come in 4 months... that means that 95% of the content will come even later! We are doing things of small patches inside a patch so it feels like you will get something to look forward to! 7.31 coming and then wait another... idk 1-2 months for 7.35? Trust me, that ultimate will be unique! (spoiler: it will be another "please memorize these 1000 patterns").

You ask about houses? What about houses? Oh... yeah that update, it will be in 8.0 I promise. But I never said which patch in 8.0! Hah gotcha, that may be 8.5 actually... or 9.0 but look forward to housing update!

Which is crazy to me because it has felt like DT has gone on for an eternity.

Looking at DT launch till today, it's 421 days.

From last Fanfest till release, it changes a lot, so lets go with 5 months from the JP Fanfest, same time frame as last expansion.
That puts us in early April, so lets go with the 6th.

That would be 1008 days. We aren't even halfway if that's the case.

That is not going to happen. It didn't happen with the content drought in EW, I saw the same posts two years ago about "maybe there's a 6.6 patch in the works!" It didn't happen then, it's 99.9% likely that's not going to happen now. There would literally have to be some sort of fundamental shift in philosophy from CSIII for that to occur, and that's highly unlikely.

Prepare yourself for a full year with no content.

We're still only just over half way through 2025, we're looking at roughly a year and a half to 2 years without content; other than a couple of patches with a few hours of story, a new dungeon or two, and a couple of new trials, the final alliance raid and ACC set.
