FFXIV Store and Unlockable Hairstyles for Retainers

as far as i know (and as far as google will tell me), it's currently not possible to use hairstyles from the FFXIV store or hairstyles unlocked in-game on your retainers. if this is the case, i would like for it to Not be the case anymore

please allow whatever hairstyle a particular character has unlocked to be carried over into retainer appearance customization, so that players can use these hairstyles for their retainers too. there are many FFXIV store hairstyles that i would like to use for my retainers, but can't.

my retainer uses a shop hairstyle just fine? i did use a retainer fantasia but i do have a biblically accurate graha tia retainer

Your retainer should have access to all of the hairstyles their master (your character) has access to. So you must make sure to unlock the desired hairstyle on your character first, then use a Retainer Fantasia to tweak their appearance. I've never had issues with it myself, but if they somehow don't appear or something goes wrong, make sure you take some screenshots for a bug report!

It works very much the same was as when you Fantasia, when you Fantasia, you are not able to select unlockable hairstyles. You have to use the Aesthetician Bell to equip the hair.

That's very odd. I remember changing my existing retainer's hairstyle before. Guess I'll have to check it out when I get home.
Edit: Also, the only way to change the retainer's appearance is the Fantasia, isn't it? Where did the Aesthetician bell mention come from? Now I'm super confused lol

Nyastra meant that when you fantasia your regular character, you have to change to unlockable hairstyles via Aesthetician. The same goes for retainers, but with the Fantasia: when you make your retainer, you cannot give them unlockable hairstyles, but you can once you Fantasia them? I think? lol

Good thing retainer fantasias are cheap, but yeah it's inconvenient. It just never occurred to me a lvl15 character making their retainers would already have unlocked hairstyles, though it is technically possible...
