Being teased about games that are still 3 years down the line is unfortunately standard for the games industry. If you can't stand that long a wait it's generally better to opt out of all the marketing.

Or better yet, wait to buy until the GotY or complete version comes out a year later. It's cheaper, you get a better experience out of it, and you get to feel out if the game will last if it's an online only game!

It feels long because patch cycles have gotten longer. With longer patch cycles, you get a feeling that contents are so close yet so far away.
