Time to ban parsing Square Enix

For competition, sure numbers matter, but the post I replied to was about personal improvement, and the best answer for that is the duty recorder since it will have more data than just your damage numbers, like seeing which abilities are being used at what time, if they slide casted or cancelled the cast. For self improvement, the duty recorder is better. For sweaty 'hardcore' people who need a number to feel good about themselves, yeah parsing would work.

You're vastly underrating how valuable parsers are. It's not just damage numbers and a fancy color that gets uploaded, but literally everything associated with how you reached said damage. At a glance, you can see exact numbers, if positionals hit, clipping due to ping issues, rotation timelines, snapshots and a lot more. People focus on the pretty number they get, but parsers are invaluable raid tools.

Don't get me wrong. A better duty recorder would be fantastic for quick recaps, but if you're looking for concrete data, a parser will always be better.

I'm sorry to hear you had to deal with that. If it's one thing you can count on anytime this sort of situation goes down, people get so ridiculous, it separates the real from the fake pretty quickly.

It's also important to keep in mind that real friends wouldn't automatically assume the worst of you and treat you like that for taking a reasonable, neutral, mind your own business type stance.

I appreciate your offer, and you're not the only one as of late that's extended a hand out of kindness, but it's still become tiresome watching increasing amounts of the community be so, well, anti-community between things like pro/anti-mod and hardcore versus casual that it often feels like there's no "good people" and only "good individuals" when they happen to spring up.

I think the part that troubles me the most about the Mare thing is that, prior to this, I had never seen any real toxicity on Dynamis on account of it not being "the" data center for any kind of content so raiding/PVP/RP drama stayed elsewhere, and it came off relatively chill on all fronts. But sometime around the constant congestion, we started slowly converting into the "backup" RP data center for some people due to not only all the housing, but the ease in which others could travel here for venues, on top of the assumption that being low pop also meant "low key" making it easier for things to fly under the radar when it came to mod usage.

Though it seems the same problems that plagued Crystal RP took root here too with regards to pro-Mare and anti-Mare sentiment, only instead of hearing it in passing from others, I got caught in the middle of an implosion that had me sending/receiving tells for most of that night from over a dozen people and by the time the dust settled, almost none of them were friends or FC mates with each other anymore due to negative assumptions made of one's opposition and good old "if you're not with me then you're against me".

You're bringing it up as if Square would make that exactly as current third party tools. This is the same company that still has a bug with sustain potion able to remove debuffs if you time the application properly. Asking for all the info you described in an official fashion isn't plausible with the team's skill. I mean, look how long it took for hats, and not even all of them. Asking for expansion on a current feature and add extra bits over time seems like a good way forward if somehow down the road third party parsing gets a crackdown as well.

I 100% AGREE! Parsing doesn't tell the whole story. only envious ELITIST stalkers/ paranoid players use it to rage bait on reddit and any other social media platforms.

IF were going your route heres the things we need removed. Universalis, Wiki pages, discord, youtube channels, music channels, oooo remove the fan art, remove anything related to ff14 so we can appease this guy. Do not compare American WOW to JP FF14. if you want those 3rd party tool then go back to wow. SE has a very strict policy which is why they've shutdown MARE. and American servers aren't entitled to decide on what YoshiP will do.

Bruh.....you wanna know whats ironic about this statement in the funniest way possible......he mentions 3rd party tools....how many mods have been converted over or third party tools into functions in our game. The devs look at those tools and tend to wonder how to incorporate them into the actual game. Speech bubbles = mods before / They have mods that actually used raid tools and third parties that used those and now we getting that function in game. I've nothing wrong against parsing myself when the tool is used correctly as a self improvement. Whats bad is the level of gate keeping that is being used.

Should parsing be removed. Not really. Should parsing be monitored.....(not sure why SE just doesn't bite the bullet and make they own DPS counter to help ppl keep track of DPS....would solve some of the issues with the parse.) the answer is yes. Theres always gonna be bad actors as they say in and outta game. Some of you on the forums are bad actors. You think your helping but your not. The thing is Parsing in itself is not the problem its the ppl who use this that are. Thats the same as saying are guns bad or are the ppl who use guns bad? You have to see beyond your hate. Besides how many of you know your rotation enough to be able to play in savage / ultimate ? I dont think many of you know your rotations and openers that well. Parsing helps. Yet you have ppl demanding colors hell Zenos yes the youtuber Zenos has admitted he looks at how ppl parse to determine if they are worth it or not. You even have a website that breaks down the entirety of the ultimate fights as a simulation do you all believe that needs to be taken down since its literally showing you how to complete the fight? What about the websites that are selling clears, or ppl in chat selling clears? when SE gonna crack down on that. Yall worrying about parsing when legit blatant cheating going on and its not even mod related its legit RMT related.

western servers are not ENTITLED to push their 3rd party tools to HONORABLE JP SE. they don't care who you are in your country rich or poor. If you violated their TOS or failed to comply, they have the right even to SHUTDOWN American servers by any means necessary. we all signed the agreement before we step into their game with JP POLICY. so, STOP pushing your 3rd party tools to not get NA server forced to be deleted. If you still don't understand the TOS, then maybe it is time for you to go back to American WOW and hug each other there with 3rd party tools. and be ENTITLED thank you.
