This is a request to add some tools to find more information about shops NPCs run in the game that sell things easier and having tools to compare market board prices between servers and data centers in the game. (Note: I know there are resources around the internet to do this, but I want them in the game where they should be.
#1: NPC shop tool finder
Have you ever noticed on some items it lists the shop selling price, but doesn't tell you where that shop is? You have to pull up a browser and search for the piece to find what NPC sells it and where? Please SE, it would be really nice to find a way to highlight the item and either click or use buttons on a controller to bring an option up to tell the player more information about who the NPC is (something like their name or even a picture of them would be nice) and where to find them (coordinates). This might encourage some people to go buy the items they're looking for at an NPC instead of going straight to the MB because it's easier.
#2: Marketboard Price Comparison Tools
Ever wanted to buy yourself an expensive item and wish you could easily just compare prices across servers or data centers to know where you can save yourself a few gil when buying it? I do this often and I can save thousands of gil by travelling to a different server to buy items. Currently there are tools like Universallis out there that help with this, but they aren't always up to date and require some searching and know how to find. Again, please SE can we add a tool to the game that allows us to do this? Some might say it could mess up server economies in the game if this happens, but I don't foresee that happening. Human nature is to go to the path of least resistance for the most part. I believe that economies won't be impacted that much by allowing a tool like this to be in the game for those who want to use it.
If SE doesn't want to build this tool themselves, then please give developers at places like Universallis the tools they would need (I believe it would be official access to SE's API, but I'm not 100% sure on that) to be able to make this tool able to update prices and availability of items in real time. I don't foresee SE going this route due to security concerns, but it's an option if they absolutely can't make this tool themselves due to "cost".
I hope that by posting a request about the desire for these tools might at least put it on SE's radar, especially if the community expresses enough of a desire for it. If you got to the bottom of this post, thank you so much and may you ever walk in the light of the crystal!
