Difference between the OG and my WoL's story

So i have been working on my main WoL story. And want to make a big difference with the crystal brave as it didn't exist in Grorin's timeline since his friend who was also a Garlean Conscript. But is a tactician and organizer. He suggested that the scions would stay in the shadows and help the city state dealing with their troubles behind the curtains. Even suggesting to hire the Doma ninjas, because of their espionage skills. But i want to make sure the bloody banquet would happen, but don't know how to continue like that.

Can anyone give me a suggestion how the bloody banquet could happen even if the Crystal Brave didn't exist or if the Crystal Brave is made by someone else.

I expect the Bloody Banquet would have happened regardless of the Crystal Braves, they were just convenient pawns for the powers that be in Ul'dah. As to how it would play out without them, possibly a faction of the Immortal Flames would fill the role, maybe another mercenary group, perhaps Whatshisface and co pull the same stunt without uniforms. You can probably play it any way you want.

The Brass Blades are the ones that are basically the city-town guard and would sell their own mother for enough coin.

Rather than them not existing, you could rename/re-write that the crystal braves were more of a covert group, and a faction within them was manipulating Ul'dah's Brass Blades from the shadows. Bro did so good getting them to be secretive schemers that some took it a bit too far? Something like that?

I'm just trying to work on story of my WoL who is an Garlean Conscript that used to be in Gaius's Legion. And when alphinaud suggested of making the crystal brave, my WoL have doubts about it, and wonder if the scion should stay on the side line rather then be more open.
