Hit a critical mass. They have the don't ask don't tell rule. But players feel that their mods are too big to fail and would kill the game if it were ever touched.

Me personally i find that extremely disrespectful, imagine a community telling you that your game can't survive on its own two legs because the only reason why is does, is a unsupported mod that the players think is too popular to be touched and openly flaunt it.

Hard agree. It was only a matter of time before the bubble burst.
What's really sad is that Square actually tried to allow players to have their fun under the simple rule 'Don't ask us.'
