Body slider. Tired of being a stick figure as a guy.

Body slider. Tired of being a stick figure as a guy.

Let me have a slider for individual body parts i.e. lips, nose, eyelids, brows, and so on, thanks.
Oh, and age slider too. It's a criminal that female avatars doesn't get any option to be old.
In addition to the above. Unrestricted glamour. Glamour can be used on any job. This would allow for much more character customization. In addition, many of the random npcs and even many job quest related characters mix and match glamour from jobs other then their own! Why can't the WOL do the same thing? It doesn't make any sense! Like you can tank in a bikini or giant chicken suit but you can't in the Saurian Tabard of Aiming? Really? It doesn't make sense.
Yoshi P. mentioned this would be an easy change that they could do in the media tour prior to dawntrail. There was a q&a here https://gamerescape.com/2024/06/06/f...naoki-yoshida/ where yoshi p. mentioned that he thought it would be awkward if a black mage jumped into a dungeon in plate armor which has several issues with it.
1. There already are a couple heavy armor casting sets
2. You can already enter a dungeon dressed as a giant chicken. I don't think awkwardness really matters here, does it? lol
3. We're the Warrior of Light! Slayer of Primals! Champion of Eorzea! Savior of the Source! Would the Warrior of Light (Speaking as a general character) struggle under heavy armor as a caster? Probably not! I'd imagine any sufficiently strong adventurer could probably cast spells in armor as well. Yes, I know that cloth aids in aethereal conductivity and whatnot, but I imagine after a certain point of strength that can become more or less a negligible factor in things. Particuarly where the WOL is at, power-wise.
That said he did say he was open to it in the interview, but I hope he does.

There are several things they could do to improve the character customization that wouldn't increase the number of data values loaded for each player, assuming that excuse is true.
Such as:
- Adding more faces, eyes, noses, mouths and hairstyles.
- Adding an option to mirror hairstyles (by treating the mirrored versions as separate hairstyles on the backend, accessed by a "mirror" button on their corresponding hairstyle)
- Adding different highlight patterns for certain hairstyles (using the same workaround as above, separate hairstyle IDs)
- Separating Au Ra faces and horns (again by using a similar workaround, storing every face/horn combination as a separate "face" ID on the backend)
Bring back 6.0 Dragoon.

We really need better hairstyles and account-bound customization (if you buy emotes or gear from the shop. It should be account bound. End of story. Ridiculous that it isn't). Also, color sliders for eye colors would be nice, and just.. more eye options in general. I would love glows and some really whacky stuff like that. More makeup options. All just a dream, but again, would be nice.
For the love of gods, this game should be more alt-friendly. At least drop the story requirements if you've completed it on one character & share shop purchases with the entire account, bare minimum. Support alt friendliness: https://forum.square-enix.com/ffxiv/threads/506856-Suggestion-FFXIV-Alt-Friendliness
If they can't completely redo what we have, I had some ideas of how to expand within the system.
For all-
-Better sliders for bust and muscle, add butt sliders.
-A few new faces for each race.
-Expand facial hair options.
-New option for freckles of a few varieties not locked to "face paint"
-Second face paint layer
-Body tattoos.
-More ear shapes
-More tails shapes.
-More skin tones
-More hair colors, particularly the neons we see commonly in Solution 9.
A few race specific ideas
Hyur
-Cauliflower ear option
-Highlander brows
Miqo'te
-Unlink facial stripes. Add a section with a variety of options to pick from. Include color selection.
-Ear colors. Allow ears to take black tips like certain default male hairstyles have built in. Highlighter option.
-Options for chipped ears.
Au Ra
-Unlink horns. Add a couple more options.
-Broken or chipped horns.
-Body scale patterns.
Hrothgar
-Unlink body stripe color to hair color (This is personally my highest want in the entire flipping game). Either as an on/off toggle like face tattoos or as a separate color selection that matches skin tones.
Lalafell
-What is going on with that bust slider? Either embrace it and let the girls have a bust or delete it. Flat or bee sting between 0 and 100 is a waste of resources.
Just adding my voice in requesting exactly this.
Besides some of the other sliders its all I ask for.
Additional changes I'd love to see:
1) A color wheel for the character creator. At the very least, they should add more colors but a color wheel would allow for almost endless possibilities.
2) Miqo'te clan marks separate from the face you choose.
3) Get rid of racial exclusive hairstyles and allow all races to wear them. I'm all for racial exclusive features, but restricting hair is just ridiculous.

I want better body sliders and more hair options. It's baffling to me there's no proper long hair options. I know these things take a long time to implement, but it just feels disappointing, especially with how poorly some hairstyles (the one that was "inspired" by the Hairstyle Contest but absolutely scuffed the execution) were implemented. It's still possible to make diverse hairstyles without encroaching too hard on optimization.
Also, separate Au Ra horns from face types please.
And yes unlock job locked armor!!! So many times I think to myself "this gear would look really good on a different job".
We should have more sliders for things in general like musculature, body weight. We don't get to move around facial features at all so it's hard to make a character that feels unique, especially if you play a popular race like catgirl or Au Ra. A lot of the existing faces also limit individual expression. It's hard to make a Miqo that isn't cheery or cute, an Au Ra that isn't demure, an Elezen that isn't stern, etc.
