The complete disappearance of EW Fem Hyur Face 5

There has been a few threads made about this issue before and I am honestly not in any hope if they will bring the face back to how it looked considering how the new face is not bad, but it is NOT the same face it was in Endwalker.

I used my fem Hyur character in end of Endwalker until Dawntrail came and I switched back to my male Hyur so at first I did not even check how the fem Hyur face 5 looked and this was a mistake to make cause I only fanta back during 7.1 and the face looked uncanny especially the lips but I couldn't make what actually was missing. I could make out the lower lips didn't blend into the skin like they did before and are just more dense.

But having checked the faces again from Endwalker Benchmark, there is a huge difference to these faces and they are completely different.

It's been 3 patches since the update but the faces are still pretty much different, the eyes for the most part are the same shape. The big glint is missing which takes away the "in awe" expression the face always had, now we have smaller glints - still not a terrible change as compared to the lips, this is where the face completely goes into a different direction.

Endwalker's face 5 had parted lips and that made up for how the whole face looked, this is missing after the update:

But thats not the only missing feature, the lips had detailed ridges in Endwalker while in Dawntrail it is smoothed out:


The lower end of the lower lip had a round vertical shift:

Now the lower part is barely there, instead there is a completely different angle the lip is protruding from, and the edge here barely leaves room for definition in 7.3:


The lower lip was also shorter in length in EW where the rest of the texture on the edges would blend into the skin.
Instead in Dawntrail the fade is very small on the edges and the overall lip is enlarged to fill the whole span.

I am unsure if they will bring back the old facial features, but it would be nice if they were brought back in as additional options at the least if players have already gotten used to the new face.

No amount of fanta will fix the issues with the lips that are prevalent in a lot of the faces, not just face 5 Hyur.

I really hope they bring in some more options as someone said in the megathread, rather than hoping that the players will get used to the rushed job they have done.

I think all the female midlander faces have been butchered to be honest. I have played a Hyur for such a long time and loved her and enjoyed the glams and gpose but Dawntrail just more or less ended it.

I found old screens of my character I used various faces as if needed a change but was always Hyur but they have given big baggy under eyes to face 1, they have ruined the mouth on face 2 and face 5 you have brought up the issues.

The colour of the lips are so beige it is awful all washed out there is not nice pale. I used one of my free fanta for a change see how I go and I will prob go back to Hyur but they are so changed and I feel we need a new CC with far more options for people.

I know this is not the topic but we need a massive overhaul.

i noticed the parted lips being gone too alphinaud and alisaies were ported over but not face 5 female hyur

I hate the new Lips on all Races and I hate that they are so ugly shiny, like everyone in the World uses now Lipsticks. I want my old Lips and Lip Color back.

A lot of the differences on the face itself are a result of the lighting engine changes, not the graphics changes on the character model itself.

But you are correct about the loss of the parted lips. I noticed it was removed from a few faces.

They actually kept it on my Miqo's face - no idea why they took it away from everyone else.
