Despite the controversy surrounding Wilds on PC, Monster Hunter is an enormous IP, one which dwarfs every single game you mentioned. Much as I adore many of them, they haven't been relevant for decades now. Heck, a fair number of XIV players may not have been born when some of them were.

I'd have to agree here. I'm born in 2002 and I had to google every since thing on the list. I heard some minor stuff about Kingdom hearts and Xenogear.
Monster hunter I know, I played Worlds and Rise. So it only makes sense to collab with the things most people know about. There was from what I remember huge hype for Wolds, Rise and Wilds.

I would love love LOVE a collab with Legend of Dragoon. I love that game and it's long past time for a remake of it.

Imma be real. This game already has a 'remember this?' problem. Every narrative feels like a callback to something else. At this point I'm chomping at the bit for something truly original, not references to games released decades ago.
