A collab with kingdom hearts would practically be out of the question, because they'd have to license out to Disney like a divorced parent with the IP and would have to run everything by them for approval. Not really worth it and for as little revenue that ff14 is bringing in at this moment, it might put them towards another case of bankruptcy like with that one movie flop that resulted in their merger in the first place. I already suspect they're saving a ff7 sephiroth trial for when things are headed south.

As for other game ideas; personally I'd love to see something like Brave Fencer Musashi. The mixture of puns and also how any of the bosses could easily be converted into a trial fight.

What is more likely to happen? Anything that is currently being worked on in-house that could be used as promotion for interest. We have that Octopath 0 that's coming out late this year. Oh yeah, and then there's that Adventures of Elliot game that's looking to release in 2026. And whatever is going on with that newer Dragon Quest game in development, we're probably going to see some sort of crossover event since the current DQ event is with Dragon Quest's MMO. And then of course, if there's a show or series that YoshiP really loves, he might push for a collab of that.

The obvious answer would be Magic the Gathering.
Just had a Final Fantasy set release for it that was extremely heavy on 14 representation. Give me my Jace and Chandra Triple Triad cards and a fight where Niv-Mizzet maths people to death. That or just fake maths people to death with the most absolutely basic mechanics by making them pause to figure out what they're even looking at, “(Z->)90° - (E-N²W)90°t = 1” shenanigans and what not.

A lot of people care about it and the Monster Hunter fight showed what they could do with the game if they really wanted to, and that they just willfully stick to the usual designs.

I dunno what you're on about cuz the Rathalos trial very much did "stick to the usual designs" aside from blocking 99% of healer kits for the majority of the fight
