    Question on spiritbond

I have updated my gear and spent some time crafting lvl 100 orange scrips items and the items required to do so, of course. My gear did not gain any spiritbond despite buff food. Why is that?

It has to do with the "item level" of the gear being worn vs the "recipe level" of the item being crafted.

E.g. For a BSM, Ra'Kaznar Ingot is a Lv. 98 recipe, and it can be used to spiritbond your original lvl 100 (i690) white gear (Thunderyards crafting set).

But when you are wearing your lvl 100 (i720) gear (Everseeker's crafting set), the amount of spiritbonding you receive becomes almost zero. You will need to craft the Lv. 100 2-star Master Recipes, such as the Maraging Steel Ingot to get spiritbond effect.

And, when you are wearing your lvl 100 (i750) gear (newest Crested crafting set from Patch 7.3), you receive absolutely no spiritbond at all from Ra'Kaznar Ingot, and very little spiritbonding from Maraging Steel Ingot. You will need to craft the Lv. 100 3-star items, such as Octahedrite Nugget to get noticeable spiritbond effect.

Sorry, I forgot about this thread. Thank you for your explanation. I was a bit confused because the new gear for gathering orange scrips does gain spiritbond while crafting orange does nothing. I guess it is what it is.

Gathering spiritbond is affected by the level of the gear and the level of the nodes. So crested gear gets the same amount of spiritbond as i690 gear for gatherers. You even gain spiritbind % in Endwalker legendary nodes!

I believe you, and learning this just now seems kind of crazy. I noticed in Sinus Ardorum that my Crested (i750) gatherer gear still spritbonds, and it spiritbonds rather fast. Meanwhile my crafters never do.

I saw the bug report in the bug report forum and I thought it was a legit bug.

Caimie_Tsukino's explanation is more complete for high end crafters ♥

Rules of Thumb for Spiritbonding Crafting gear:

    1) pentameld for faster Spiritbond rates. It does not matter what type of materia, or what tier, as long as there's pentameld.

    2) Use HQ Spiritbonding Potions & either Squadron Spiritbonding Manual or FC tier 3 Spiritbonding buff (Wheel of Dedication). (note the Manual & FC buff do not stack).

    3) Use Recipes with a lvl equal to the required level to *equip* the crafting gear.

You should get approximately 100% Spiritbond at 100 completed items (quick synth or stuff you actually need to craft).

    As Caimie mentioned:
On the top end: dropping down even 2 recipes levels results in huge drops in Spiritbond rates:
iLvl 720 gear (equip level req. 100) using a lvl 98 recipe takes (with buffs & pentameld mentioned) it takes ~51 completed synths (quick or otherwise) to generate 1% spiritbond.

    Hope it helps o/
