Summoner/Scholar Split

I think this was initially intended to be how new jobs were added, with multiple options branching off from each base class.

AST, DRK, and MCH won't be rewritten to begin in the initial cities for the sane reason Scholar still awkwardly branches off a base DPS class: it ain't worth the trouble.

Yeah exactly. Putting any kind of manpower behind this means less new content. Nobody should care about splitting the jobs, you get a free DPS or free heals, be happy about that.

Focus on a new and exciting job instead of reworking something that can be completed in a couple hours.

I just want more dots as Scholar. That's all I really want. WHM has awesome burst potential, let us have better sustained damage than them at least.

I think if they were to separate them, they should either make Arcanist a separate job or retool it to be a pre-scholar healer with Summoner just starting at 30 as a separate thing.

Thematically i think Aracanist into Scholar makes more sense, and this would mean there would be 2 low level healers available rather than one.

But to be honest, the only thing shared between them now is experience and resurection. Most of the base arcanist things get special scholar versions and while Summoner keeps ruin, it gets its own versions of it. So they could just leave them be.

Honestly I think separating Scholar and Summoner might be a nice Idea.
When you start the game and want to be a healer. You only see: Conjurer....
While Tanks have 2 choices, and dps like 5 options.

People might be putt off by it to only have 1 choice if you don't know anything about the game yet! Yes when you made your character you'll see that there are more healers but a 2nd choice would still be nice

Man do I miss my old arcanist DoTs.
