No, please no battle pass system. I hate FOMO mechanics, if FFXIV got a battle pass system I would probably stop playing, nobody has the time for all the grind. I dropped Destiny in big part because of that system, it just felt pointless once you fail to complete a couple of battle passes.

We have this already with the PVP series level.

We already have it in the form of the mogpendium and it having FOMO for any of the redeemable currency you can use. It just comes naturally instead of something you buy extra into it.

That said, no to battle pass. Terrible idea. Horrid idea. Fatigued idea.

Also the weekly challenge log. It only gives gil and the various base currencies, bust most of the crap you get from battle passes in mobile games is also variants of their currencies. And then there's the gambling from Wondrous Tales, to boot.

Anyway. I don't think it's a necessary addition to XIV.

i like swtor's system. actually got me back into playing that game regularly while this game's devs decided to just sit on their hands for the past several years.

I play tons of games with Battle Passes and I think it'd be a great incentive to keep people logging on and actively playing. The issue is that it'd have to be free. Maybe even tied to the higher tier sub?

Hassling me into playing a game with passes (regardless whether they are paid or not) makes me want to play a game less not more.
