Seriously. What is it with players wanting to to add garbage systems from other games in this one thinking it will make the game better when it really won't.

I respect your position.
I believe it wouldn't take anything any from players who currently like things as they are. It just would be another system for those who want a grind and the feeling of achievement outside difficult content.

Out of all the the threads I've been in, having toxic discussions between toxic vs raider I think this one gave me the worst headache of all. SPEAK OF NO SUCH EVIL.
Guild Wars 2 does this idea perfectly with the Wizards Vault where if you miss out, you can still get the old rewards, you get to obtain a kit for a Core Legendary weapon, Legendary mats, as well as other things like gold, mats, etc. But I do not trust SE to try to implement something like this without the bean counters getting involved let alone them releasing something like this without using it as yet another excuse for every other complaint this game already gets from the community or as an excuse to extend the release cadences by another month.
Would I like to see something like this to give me reason to play the game more? Yes. Do I see this working out without immense backlash? No.

It's called the Mogpendium my duder.Hello,
I have been playing ff14 since 5.2 and have enjoyed lots of the content.
I have often wondered why there is not a battle Pass system in game that refreshes every major patch (0.1/0.2 etc). Call it a 'Sphere Grid' and design it with a similar visual to ff10's Sphere Grid.
Sphere Grid levels 1-100. Each Grid gives rewards to players such as one time only glamour or mounts. Add random tiers that offer in store currency. Add another tier 1-100 for extra rewards that players must purchase.
In order to level up your Sphere level, you must partake in activities which switch every major patch. Similar to the mog events, where you get more tokens for alliance raids, but this MUST include over world activities to bring life back to zones. Such as farming FATES, killing certain mobs. So each patch the Grid level is focused on certain things such as crafting, gathering, hunts etc.. not sure.
I just desperately want MID CORE CONTENT. Something to grind for and keep me coming back. This can be something that runs parallel.
I'd also love the idea of say level 50/100 Grid you get a key, this key allows you to do a 1v1 fight. Like a Bozja duel. This gives you a title and some cool gear sets/weapon. Say the level 50 gives you the un-glowy gear and the level 100 gives you glowy.
I'm sure they can combine the mog events, pvp rewards, mogpendium to create something like this.
What do you all think?

i will only accept it if its called wuk lamats treasure trove~

What is this degeneracy??
No. And fuck Fortnite for making Battle Passes popular.

I think people will mainly oppose the idea because those passes are some sort of inception of FOMO.
I don't have the idea, but I also do not trust the developers we have if they were to undertake this task - mostly because it would just be another unfinished 'startup' system that will be implemented poorly and then take them another 4~6 years to be in a finished and usable state that it should have been in the first place.

We already have it in the form of the mogpendium and it having FOMO for any of the redeemable currency you can use. It just comes naturally instead of something you buy extra into it.
That said, no to battle pass. Terrible idea. Horrid idea. Fatigued idea.
