Shisui of the Violet Tides: Under Water :(

    Hello All

A generic issue for me (in all games) is that underwater content makes me sick. Zooming out as much as possible and changing some graphic settings help somewhat, but not enough for longer stay under water.

    Problem now in FFXIV:
The ruby sea zone has an aether current locked behind a duty that is... Under water. I could have cried when I saw that.
The solution to go with NPCs would be great, allowing me to take little breaks when motion sickness rises, but it's not available for that duty.

My question: Is it possible to partially "leech" in a duty? What I mean is: I would contribute as much as I can, but take some seconds resting off screen when motion sickness is too much. Or will other players kick me off if I stop moving for a while?

I'm not sure how to handle this. Any ideas and/or hints will be welcome.

Turn off water refraction in the graphics settings

besides turning off water reflections, U can use auto follow on anybody in Ur party if it's necessary.

Whether people will kick depends on the party and how long you are AFK. To be honest, some people will notice that sort of thing especially in the EU region.

However, another option is that when you are a higher level, such as level 100, you can do it with the Unrestricted setting and solo it. It's also possible to solo dungeons with Blue Mage if you learn the required spells up to level 30, and learn Basic Instinct from coeurls in Upper la Noscea, but you would have to level Blue Mage to 73 or higher first by killing enemies of a similar level, or getting someone to help level it quicker using high level enemies.

    Thanks a lot All.

I have already set water reflection off (it was on low). I have not known about auto-following and that will certainly help a lot.

If those two tricks shouldn't help enough, I would then go for soloing it later, when I'm at higher level (for now 76).

    Again, than you <3

Sorry for double posting, but just to follow up rapidly.

I got it done 5 minutes ago easily, thanks to an enormous and wonderful surprise: Although the dungeon entry is under water, the dungeon itself isn't! It's a normal dungeon...

So, sorry All for the unnecessary bother!

Im glad to hear that the issue wasnt as bad as feared. As of this writing, there is no system in game for swimming/underwater combat. So any "underwater" setting where you need to fight will conveniently have some sort of air bubble to allow you to move about normally. You also could have put up a partyfinder group asking for someone to run the dungeon for you unsync. The idea being, a level 100 comes in with you. They kill everything. You take your time moving forward when youre comfortable. In the end, you get credit for the clear. If you ask up front if someone is willing to let you "leech" a clear, then they cant get mad at you if you dont contribute much to the fighting.
