    Steam launcher, can not connect to steam error

    Had this error, Could not connect to Steam Please confirm network maintenance times and try logging in at another time. show up yesterday 8/13/25 and it still happening today on 8/14/25

    my account is definitely steam version (have been playing through steam since storm blood)

    error comes up when starting launcher before it even loads anything.

    looking for assistance on how to resolve

    Same error, have had it for nearly 48 hours now.
    Can't log in with the launcher directly because it's a bloody steam account too, and we can't log in with the ffxivboot.exe anymore since they locked it down.
    It's not just you, 3 discord servers I am part of have more than 100 total reports, everywhere from EU, OCE, JP, NA.

    I am also having this issue, I tried to resolve it through uninstalling and reinstalling steam, but it did not fix the issue. Unsure where to go from here.

    Having same problem. What works for me that just open and close untill the error leaves. This time it took like over 30 times lauching and closing the launcer until it stopped giving it error

    Still having the same issue. Had it last night around 11:30pm PST, but it resolved quickly. Then this morning still having the issue.

    It's due to steam servers that have an issue.
    It's not limited to FFXIV but other games too and on websites that have Steam-based images and such that is not displayed correctly.

    I am experiencing the same problem with my steam as well. I was on last night with no problem then as i try to log in today it will not let me.

    Now i have found that if i go to my FF14 short cut and run it with out the steam window being open i can run the game as normal, tho this is not fool proof. I did have to close and run the launcher twice to get it to lode properly to let me login to the game.
