did dnc get screwed over in pvp?

I've been maining dnc for as long as i've unlocked it in and out of pvp. The range with dnc outside of the pvp zone is fine just like normal range jobs but in pvp this is where the change lays and i feel like dnc is no longer a "range" dps.

Compared to other range jobs in the pvp stage dnc has half the range of normal range job which i find rather strange, i can understand we have a melee attack in the rotation but constantly almost getting one shot by other range jobs is getting old and tireing to the point where i wanna get to the highest lvl of pvp as soon as posible to get all my rewards so i don't have to go in anymore until a other season starts.

I know for a fact that in pvp the DNC job is mostly being picked on cause of this range disavantige and i really wish they would do something about this already cause it's no longer any fun. Let me know if i'm the only one feeling like this

It depends on which mode you’re talking about.
For a smart DNC in Frontline, this change is a huge buff, especially in Seize and Shattered.

Keep in mind every job is really different in PvP, and has more distinction between eachother in PvP than in PvE. If you compare DNC strictly to other ranged physical, sure their filler has shorter range. On the other hand, MCH and BRD slow down to make full use of their arsenal. Dancer's mobility blows theirs out of the water, and DNC can become rather tanky sometimes.

I really think it's more of a mid-range job in PvP and has more in common with something like RDM and MNK where it's meant to take some punishment.

In short, I think DNC is a good job. Verdict is out on CC after some deserved buffs; busted in FL in a decent stack and just aite otherwise.

DNC is a hybrid type of DPS, a bit like RDM although it does it differently: RDM has long range and melee options to cycle through, DNC has mostly mid range options (combo and sabre), one long range (starfall), and melee options (honing). This is why it has a bit more defensives than other ranged physical jobs, much like RDM, and much like RDM, benefits from excellent mobility. You wouldn't be wrong to say that DNC and RDM play more like melees (poke in and out) than actual ranged jobs. It's all about pros and cons.

If you don't like the playstyle this job offers and want more range freedom, I can only suggest one of the many true ranged jobs in the game?

It feels terrible most of the time. Their range is a joke and I feel like melee have better ways of dealing damage at range then dnc

dancer is fun, still believe its better if you can find a paladin to play with, the two work well together especially with the dancer's limit break. if you don't have a pallie it turns into a scoot in and scoot out job and kind of have to use terrain to catch small groups off guard with your limit break but they can still own in FL.

If you are playing crystaline conflict, dancer is one of the better classes. Its LB is what dictates the game. If you have a perfect combo in your team then you are guaranteed to win the match unless you screw big time.

You can use dnc lb to catch people in environmental damage (although this seems to be bugged now due square enix..), you can do nice combos if you got warrior, dragoon or ninja. This was one of the most hated class in season 9 and more when JP players found out that dnc was very strong. After that, DNC got buffs every patch.

But people more often see bad dnc players so they think this one is just awful.
