I'm fairly sure Yoshida said that anyone can call the Primal in your Free Company provided that you fill the bar first. Also I doubt they'd make such a big deal out of Summoners and primals (with them actually listing Garuda and Ifrit in this category) if you were able to do this only once a month.
We'll probably just call a weaker version of the primals or even a different model altogether. I'm quite sure that the Free Company summoning is a different thing and that is simply meant to be a win button when you feel like it. With this you actually call the god him/herself while Summoners simply get a weaker copy of it. Which is the official lore explanation in XI so it'd be another nod to the past.
Bahamut!!!!

I thought Bahamut was the the god/primal of the dragons and Nidhogg was only their king?
Nidhogg is not a Primal, he is merely a very powerful Wyrm of Ishgardian legend. If the Dragons worship a Primal, it is most likely Bahamut.
As for being on-topic, I'm curious as to why the 'leaked pictures' contradict what has been established so far. Summoners weren't supposed to be able to summon Primals, I was pretty sure. And as for Arcanists, weren't they originally techno-mages? They had clockwork staves and they could lay spell traps, nothing like what was in the description...
In the text I only read that the summoners once summoned the primals. Not that they can still do it.
I'm sure that the main primals like Ifrit, Garuda and Titan are still for free companies and summoner get the "lesser primals" like Siren, Fenrir an Typhon.
It's a lost art just like White and Black Magic. The WHM and BLM lores aren't any different really and I don't see what's the point in telling us what we can't do in the official description on the main website.
If we were meant to get lesser summons they would've said so but they only mentioned the primals.
It's like Scholar and Dancer in XI. People used to do it =/= people can't do it anymore. If mages in the past could summon the primals what's so different now?
They've said before that Summoner will get to summon lesser spirits/Primals, not the big Primals. So far the official statements have all said that the big Primals (Ifrit, Garuda, etc...) will be Free Company summons that only one can own at any given time. It's a lost art just like White and Black Magic. The WHM and BLM lores aren't any different really and I don't see what's the point in telling us what we can't do in the official description on the main website.

This leads me to believe that Summoner will have access to smaller Primals or spirits. Until an official statement comes out saying that Summoners can summon all the big Primals at will, I'd stick with the official statements that have said that they won't.
As a SMN I like Yoshi's idea of primals being strong and I hope Carbuncle is no exception to this.. even if that means we don't get to summon him.
