    Honestly, it is getting pretty bad for eye strain. Especially since DT. Out of all the games I play FF14 is the only one that cause a high level of eye strain and I play other MMOs too. Even my wife who is a Heroic/Mythic raider in WoW has more problems with Eye strain here than she does there so something needs to give. There's just so many flashing lights going on from just boss mechanics. Granted we've not gone back to O11 levels which were absurd but it is bad.

    The aggressive bloom on every light source that can't be turned down or off is one of the worst visual decisions they've ever made.

    They seem to be trying to add sound cues a lot to raids at least, the entire reason of why the Ark Angels and the Shadow Lord do not shut up in the raid when, to my understanding, they were fairly stoic in XI is because every single one of their mechanics is tied to a specific line, when Ark Angel TT says "Cowardice dismembers!", you know he jumped to a corner and is going to the wide sweeping cleaves, so it's clear they are trying to use sound as a secondary tell to mechanics... which I don't find super helpful save for a few instances like the "wait for it" and the aforementioned Ark Angel TT, but still an *attempt*.

    Overall the FX in this game are just insane.
    They remind me of very old grinding games where everything is flashy to not so much enjoyable level - quick example AoE from WHM it's just a flashbang

    Agreed, and they clearly feel like they need to keep outdoing themselves every time the skill gets updated.

    I wish you could turn all the skill effects down to something like their level 50 versions instead of having to choose between full effects and switching them off entirely.

    I'm pretty sure they made Holy 3 instead of just updating the Holy trait to make a less flashy animation because of complaints about Holy being a flashbang.

    This is the root behind most of my issues when I mention the word 'visual clutters' in my past complants, really. They can make 'photon'-vfx without adding too much bloom effect. There are already quite aplenty in this game.

    But I guess blinding your players is necessary to make the game more difficult lol.

    Adding general Bloom slider on settings would also make this more tolerable but Ig they also don't want to do that. I already cannot keep my eyes open during phases like Sphene's Absolute Authority (IMHO worst example I can think of not limited to San d'Oria) given how many blooms coupled with jittery visuals. I had to do that part with my eyes closed while relying on audio cues and what I saw from my debuff list 1-2s after the cast goes off. That's not a challenge. That's just painful.
