Anyway. I want masculine clothing. I want outfits that look appealing on male character models. I want armor that doesn't look like padded cartoon hulk, I want something that follows their natural shape, I also want chest pieces that end at the waist instead of robes etc. I want to dress my male character like a man to modern understanding, thank you for listening.

wait so you're unironically making the "robes are for females" meme argument? Also who claimed there wasn't "intent" behind forcing clothing be locked behind gender arbitrarily? I never dispusted that SE does that. I just asked what is "masculine" clothing. Do all men have to look like Guts from Berzerk and if they don't, they're feminine? where do these arbitrary lines start and end?

Now you accuse me of rage bait?
Everyone here has their own view and everyone thinks their truth is the only one.

If I said, ribbons and ruffles look girly to me, would it matter? No it doesn't, I just don't use the glamour.
If I said, the new Aiming set from the alliance raid suits only Dancer- it just does not fit BRD/MCH. Any points? Not really.
If I said, I do like the new streetwear glam from PVP, would it change anything? No.
My opinion is no more or less important than anyone else's.

In the end, controversies attract interest. And I think, it worked pretty well.

However, there is one truth I am convinced of. If Rathalos M/F | Omega Attire M/F can exist on any body type - then any set can.
Fending/Maiming/Striking+ Aiming/Scouting + Casting/Healing sets share the same models throughout years. Why not add M/F versions, unrestrict glamours from roles and allow anybody wear what they want?

Still though, the forum never ceases to amaze me.
You don't find it the least bit weird, you can't even state what "masculine" looks like, despiting claiming you don't want "femal clothes" forced on you? When does "masculine" armor start and end exactly?

It's no use arguing with someone who can't even understand that men and women do have different bodyshapes and as such, they do need differently shaped clothes. This also true ingame, some of the clothes are clearly designed for female characters to wear them and don't look as good on male characters. Take wide shoulders for example...they totally change how an outfit which was made for a specific bodytype looks on you.

That being said, I can somehow understand the frustration of OP. I feel like a lot of gear, not all of it though, is being designed with female characters in mind, males..not so much, except maybe some glamour sets. Especially if you play a mage/healer. I understand their posts as the wish for more neutral looking gear.
    Those aren't mutually exclusive?
The top comment is saying clothes aren't inherently gendered. That's not to say clothing can't be tailored to fit a certain demographic. Those aren't contradictory. A t-shirt isn't inherently gendered, but can be tailored, such that, it disproportinately fits a certain body type.

The bottom comment is a scientific fact... none of those descriptors have anything to do with gender. They were conflating biological sex with gender. That's not my problem they don't know what the words mean. No one dispusted the claim that men and women can be shaped differently. I'm saying, people can be shaped differently, whether they are of the same gender or not. Chinese women on average aren't the same shape as women from Latvia. Men from Vietnam, on average, aren't the same shape as Men from Hawaii, Tonga, Samoa, Aotearoa etc etc. It's reductive to boil down variance to merely genders.

That’s what the tons of modern glams SE releases are for?

It’s a fantasy game (with sci-fi elements) so mage jobs should get fantasy looking robes.

They're unironically making the the "robe = female" argument.

Imagine unironically saying "I want to dress my male character like a man to modern understanding" as if there is some universal objective metric that all cultures have come to agree on, regarding "modern male clothes." whatever that means.

Yeah I never understood why robe = feminine clothing is such common take.

Does that mean that Gandalf in Lord of the Rings is actually a femboy?

Gandalf such a "woke lib." He was obviously trying to feminize alpha males with his robe apologist propaganda. Gandalf wasn't aware that to be "masculine" means you have to dress like Guts from Berserk

Actually you are pulling that out of your ass, I never said that it was female, I said that I don't want any more for my male character. We have enough anyway.

The problem with floor length robes specifically is that you can barely customize this type of glam piece since you can not see legs, shoes and often gloves are also overwritten by large sleeves. You can dye it and put on a hat. That's not very useful for personal expression. Thank you for listening to my explanation as on why I would rather not get any more ROBES, at least none that cover most of the character model.
