    Unable to DC travel

So I've seen a few posts where someone isn't able to DC travel due to their local data being corrupted and tried it out. Deleted my local folder, hit the travel to a new DC menu and the Worlds actually show up instead of getting booted out and being given the World data cannot be obtained 2021 error.

Suspected it was my cloud backup character settings giving me the issue as whenever I downloaded one of the backed up settings and try to DC travel afterwards, I get the 2021 error. Decided to restore my game in the hopes it was something clientside, and also wiped the local character data.

After the game was restored, I got a back up character data from an external storage device and copied it back in, though it turns out that was also corrupted as when I tried to DC travel it gave me an error. However, the game decided to also upload a new back up of my settings (this was after I copied the data from my external drive into the local file) to the cloud, so I decided to restore my character settings with the data from the cloud instead after wiping the local file that was corrupted. Tried to check the DC travel menu and poof, I can view the DCs I can travel to.

Thinking the matter resolved, I logged in to update my gear, portraits. After doing that and checking the travel to a new DC menu however, I'm back to experiencing the 2021 error again when trying to view DCs I can travel to. So I'm now at a loss on what I can do as it seems my character data in my local file gets corrupted after I make changes in game.

    Help would be greatly appreciated.

Good morning! Thank you for posting in the Final Fantasy XIV Technical Support Forums.

If this is only affecting one character, then it may be something to do with your locally-saved settings. Go to 'My Documents' > 'My Games' > 'Final Fantasy XIV' and delete that folder. If there are any corrupted files that are associated only with that character, this will get rid of them.

If this does not solve the issue, try updating your graphics card drivers and doing a clean boot. To do a clean boot simply open the task manager and select the 'Start up' Tab. Disable everything here and restart the PC. This will make sure that no background processes are interfering with the game.

Please be sure to install the game to the C: drive as this works best with Final Fantasy XIV. Lastly, please be sure that no background processes are interfering with FFXIV (i.e. Anti-virus software, OneDrive, Discord etc.)

Thank you once again for visiting the Final Fantasy XIV Technical Support Forums!
