I understand the whole "secrecy" thing, but now that they can show gameplay and the game is near alpha stages, it really needs to stop.

SE has tried the whole "secrecy" thing before, and it has only brought them trouble.

When open beta was out, people thought that the game was only a quarter of what they would get on official release. If you go back and look at the old forum posts on zam you will see people claiming there will be new classes, twice or three times as many zones (there was a close zone near every atheryte crystal and people thought they would instantly be opened to actual zones, not instances), much cooler looking equipment, a reduction in lag because they were only using 'test servers', and various other things that never came true.

No surprise, when the game was released in the same state as open beta a ton of people quickly rage quit and gave the game incredibly low ratings.

Then the -exact- same thing happened with the first few patches, people speculated that ishgard would open up by christmas, lag would be fixed etc. Once again, disappointment and people quitting.

Then when Yoshi-P took over the -same- thing happened once again.

And now, for what is probably the 4th or 5th time, it is happening again.

By being vague, Yoshi-P is creating rumors and speculation
And when people speculate they generate expectations
And when expectations are not met, most people experience disappointment
