    An open discussion about DoL/DoH

    So, lately I am leveling up my crafters and gatherers, and also looking a bit more into the MB economy to see if I can make some Gil on the side. While doing this, I came to a realization about something that, imo, is actually really wrong with the craftinggathering system, and wanted to see if someone else reached the same conclusion and to open a bit of a discussion about this.

    So, for me, the main problem that fucks up the whole Market Board economy is that everyone can be everything. What I mean is that every character can actually get every DoH/DoL class up to max level and that, from an economics point of view, is a curse. Think about it, in real life, one can not be the whole production chain, from base materials to finished product, and that gives life to the market, to the economic exchange. Here, on the other hand, that economy doesnt work, because everyone can do everything and the market gets flooded. There is no (or almost none) scarcity, no law of supply and demand, no market elasticity. In the end, that causes, imo, a Gil stagnation where the people who have all the classes and invest lot of time in that hoard a ton of Gil, while other people struggle with getting their hand on what they want. Also, that causes so much competitivity that the general prices of basically everything gets sinked to the floor and stuff has no value anymore.

    Dont get me wrong, I`m not saying the system should be changed, it wouldnt be possible, I was just wondering how it would have been if, for example, everyone were to be allowed only one DoL class and like 2 DoH classes from the beginning.

    So, what do U guys think?

    Edit: On a more serious note though,
    Ehhh. If there were some addition to the Crafter/Gatherer system, in which would promote further specializaiton in a specific area of those Diciples (and of course could still alternative between them) ....then yes a more balanced market of supply & demand COULD emerge. but this is idealistic thinking still.

    Take for example a baseline level 100 crafter. lets say weaver. they can make...literally everything, ever other base line weaver can make. but...add a specialist stone and now you can craft certain items that are rare or are limited to special drops.

    ...if.....they were to go a step further and lets say, create a new soul stone for crafters that was called profession. that you can only have 1 of, with a timed CD after use of ....lets just say once a quarter. so 3 months. it would lock to whatever class you use it on. For this example we've used weaver.

    so your weaver, now becomes your profession. not specialist. and you unlock a wide variety of ....-throws hands in air- idk....really intriquate lacy under garments that have 6 dye slots instead of 2. or, being able to create (from a temple of options provided by devs) your own unique wall papers to be sold for housing. ...>Then yes, i could very much see this application working. (but this comes with its own challenges)
