I’m all for criticism being constructive but at the same time some of us have been trying that since 2.0 with extremely little success lol. How could they not become bitter and frustrated at the overwhelming silence to these issues? I mean, it’s not like they have the game to play with how short-lived patches are now lol.

The whole "please think of the poor devs" narrative flew right out the window when they've been caught lying to us. Multiple times

If the argument is going to be that they were "busy" doing something else or have a "priority list" than why does so many other parts of the game feel undercooked or abandoned? WHAT are they busy with then? WHAT is at the top of this priority list?
If they'd have anything resembling a plan, they would be showing us a roadmap.

Technically they do show you a roadmap of the current cycle for patches until 7.4. They just don't call it a road map.

7.3 is the MSQ, alliance raid, pvp stuff, a torch for the EW deep dungeon.
7.31 is the relics for battle content and also the cosmic exploration content.
7.35 is the Yok Huy allied society and the Pilgrim's Traverse Deep Dungeon.

They specifically use the .05 model to double dip on subs. You all know it. The content is most likely done and sitting there ready to go. But if you phrase is at "We dont want to rush and overload the players!" suddenly it sounds almost nice.

No, they do this because they are an agile shop like all good modern software development, and it makes no sense to release all the content at once because it means you can't do parallel development. Each time a feature is finished from development, it is sent to QA and the localization teams to finish, while the actual programming teams move on to the next cycle of patch content. That's the nature of any live service game. The smaller feature point releases mean that the bug fix team isn't overwhelmed for 1 week after patch release, and then has to sit on their thumbs for the next 3 months.

Edit: To be more specific, they use feature driven development and they seem to have 3-4 different teams each working on different stages, in parallel with one another, on different features.

Xiv needs to stop arbitrarily spreading out their patches and their expansions in general. Core features of an expansion should be frontloaded. If they want deep dungeon to be a strong leveling choice, it should be launching at 7.1 or 7.2 at the latest. Then when you've delivered on all the features you advertised the expansion on, you can use the later patches for all the goofy experimental stuff (chaotic, hildebrand trials, island sanctuary, variant dungeons, etc...)

I'm sure they think they're keeping players around by dangling the carrot of promised content in front of them, but the reality is that people get fed up with waiting and leave until the feature they were waiting for is finally implemented, that is if they return at all and don't just move on to greener pastures. And you can see the situation we've found ourselves in now...

Same opinion on relics and atma farm. Everyone is doing fates at the beginning of an expansion. It would be fun to work on a weapon at that time. But no they release it after people have maxed out fates and levelled most jobs.

Stuff just doesn't line up with the current playerbase. People who have been around from 2013 don't need a whole bunch of bonus xp to level crafters. They need tangible rewards if they have maxxed xp.
