It's day 1. There's nothing wrong with wiping to mechanics in a new fight.

The better questions to ask are: How difficult is it to figure out what people did wrong? How difficult is it to take the correct actions? How many players, and which players, can make a mistake before things fall apart?

This is how Thunder God Cid got nerfed.

Look don't get me wrong, to an extent I do think that the average skill level of the playerbase could be higher.... however, I don't like this design direction of "using raiders to drag casuals through hardcore content" and "casuals being strong-armed into doing something that they don't want to do" (savage-tier difficulty stuff). It seems like SE's solution to the "no midcore content" conundrum is just "force everyone to engage with the hardcore content", which is a strange way to interpret that.

However, just because there's one mechanic in an Alliance raid that's a bit more spicy than normal isn't cause to cry for it to be nerfed into oblivion. Again, I'd argue that average skill should be a bit higher now. Or as I put it to a friend... "You're level 100 now, act like it."

Don't worry, I won't laugh at you for your opinion. It's yours and it's valid. However, I've just finished the alliance raid and tbh, I can't agree. The first boss features some mechanics that can be deadly, as it should, and also a section where the party can wipe when too many are dead.

But it's day 1, guys. Day 1! Give it a few days, people will know what to expect and wiping there will be almost impossible.
That's not savage level difficulty, at all. It's simply seeing and learning.

I actually found the fights quite well tuned. Boss 3 was where I had the most problems I think, but it might be because I was so occupied with raising that I couldn't pay attention to everything that was happening around me. ^^'

I've actually been looking forward to an alliance raid with Nier-Level difficulty. I don't really know if they hit the mark on this one yet. have to do it a few more times to be sure, but it was okay as far as I could tell. Not as easy as Aglaia, at least, and that's always a win in my book.

It's a marginal improvement over 7.0, just like 7.2 was. And honestly, I only half-heartedly say that because of how painfully predictable most all of it was. Including the final boss and the post-credits.

Is it better than 7.0? Sure. It's not enough to redeem Dawntrail, sorry.

It's a very mid patch. Very light on content. Sterile. Safe. Flaccid. Not taking any risks.
They are playing everything safe and, as a result, nothing is memorable = WE DON'T CARE. Come and gone, like a gust of wind through the swamp.
I would even say it... le gasp! not worth the sub fee. Because that's how I genuinely feel.

Pretty sure they took a risk with difficulty options in Deep dungeon , They took a risk with diadem in heavensward and it failed, Eureka was a rough launch, Bozja was well loved. They do take SOME risks.

I think the content this patch has been great so far. What would you have liked to see this patch ?

The newly added Late Allagan Glam 2nd Dye Channel is beyond pathetic. Who tf greenlights this...
