It's already a flop but at least I'd have reason to do OC if I could level my real classes (not phantom jobs) with it.

Just saw your post and wanted to say I agree! Look Devs, I love this game, but some decisions are truly confusing. I'm not sure why they didn't take the best parts of Bozja or Eureka (such as leveling xp or queuing for CEs) and add them into O.C. It seemed like a hugely missed opportunity as I really enjoyed leveling up my additional classes in Bozja, rather than just another round of running roulettes for old raids, or the same 3 daily quests.
Regarding Classes - I had hoped to see jobs (like Geomancer) actually IN the game officially (sort of like Beastmaster and Blue Mage as actual real jobs too, sigh), so I'm not really thrilled with only getting phantom jobs to level up instead. It's great to see what they COULD do in theory, but it doesn't help with my actual xp needs.
About the raid: there's a lot of "I'm only adding people who have run it before" going on in Shout Chat with the Forked Tower...so I can see it's about as popular as Baldesian Arsenal was to get into (and by that, I mean only the most hardcore need ever try to apply, like what happened with the recent Cloud of Darkness Chaotic raid that I don't see a lot of party finder for these days). Why the Devs decided to do that again, part two, I'll never know. But they really, really shouldn't have. Bozja was actually fun AND lucrative to run that raid, because everyone could queue and go in, and they had a well done raid that we actually finished quite a few times in there with few failures. No "join my discord" or "you need x number of runs" were required or necessary.
Hopefully they will return to that next time, if they can't adjust it now.

I agree. I thought OC would be similar to Bozja, but it seems the devs have no idea what they're doing.
They're not confident their 7.3 DD would stick well to their playerbase, so they had to 'downgrade' something else in the same expac to make sure it's not dead on first month lol.
OC needs one of the two main “this isn’t really progress but it feels like progress” systems in either job levelling or Gil making
Neither really is actually giving progress but it feels like it is. OC completely lacks that kind of “just go in for a few minutes and feel like you are making progress” content
As a healer main in this game for nigh on 14 years all I can say is that I’m tired. My role has been eroded of complexity and expression for 3 expansions. I’ve watched the tanks do my role for me for 2 expansions and my feedback and critiques continue to fall on deaf ears.
I have no idea who modern healers are designed for but I know now it’s not me. This is the first expansion I’m truly considering dropping the healer role and not returning, so if that was the goal- congratulations I guess
It's the wrong expectation on SE's part. These contents are crafted with the long game in mind, designed to remain engaging even after patch releases. The enduring popularity of field ops from previous expacs is a prime example of this. If they can't maintain player interest in a field op, what makes them think DD would?

It doesn't? Dang with how people play I thought 90% of people were leveling alt classes in there.
I think you're overestimating how much people actively levels their non-lv100 jobs. Anecdotally speaking from my PoV, I've seen more people who are happier to just not touch jobs they generally find unfun and thus missing out things like Amaro achievements if it means they have to run roulos or daily dungeons. Alternative ways of leveling helps these players to work on their less desired jobs outside mainline content where they'd otherwise not touch + give them some sense of side progression than just 'farming silvers/golds' in OC. I personally think they could've just give both OC and new DD job experience, & maybe have them rethink their approach instead of cannibalizing older content in order to shove people into their newer content (at least that's how it looks like to me).
That being said, my initial post was a half jest lol.
