Is Meteion Dead?

I apologize in advance for the possible spoiler in the title.

But, the question has been on my mind since I played through Endwalker. Is she dead or is she alive at the edge of the Universe singing a new song along with her surviving sisters?

I am hoping Meteion is alive, flying from solar system to solar system as the Blue Bird of Happiness because I'd like to meet her again in a future patch or expansion.

She's alright! She went off to explore Etheirys. I think the Meteion that accompanied us during the Elpis zone is the last of her kind, though, since the rest merged into the Endsinger and then we killed her. The only one who came out of there alive, that we saw on-screen, is a singular Meteion, most likely the one we've been talking to since the beginning.

I choose to believe that it was her we saw flying around Revenant's Toll, in her bird-form, shortly after the Scions 'disband' at the conclusion of 6.0. Questionable if we'll ever see her again although I, personally, would love it if she did reappear.

This one's really weird to me. Because I feel like it's meant to be ambiguous, it's definitely framed as if it is, but it's just... not. There just isn't a potential reading that says that Meteion's dead. I don't think she's relevant, I think she's just off looking at stuff and exploring the world, with the intention to bring it back to... honestly, I don't know, probably nobody.

There is sort of a question of if the Meteion we met in Elpis specifically is dead, but I personally don't think that's an especially relevant question. The Meteia are some level of collective consciousness; there isn't a meaningful difference between one and another, they're all Meteion. They're all going to ask if we can be friends.

I wouldn't hate seeing her again, but that's maybe because I'm thinking of the circumstances being literally just that. Seeing her, and that's it. Just a few seconds of 'hey, it's that bird'. I think bringing her back as a fuller character would feel... I dunno, desperate? She feels like she's done as a character, to the point where bringing her back would feel like fanservice more than a meaningful continuation.

In the same boat; I think we're supposed to assume she's flying around out there somewhere, but imho that functions better as an ending to her story than as a set-up to her appearance in another story. It's hard for me to imagine a way to utilize her again that adds more than it takes away, barring the occasional, "...Wait, was that her?" bird appearance. The sole exception I can think of might be a "Rhapsodies of Eorzea" situation where there are lots of callbacks as we overcome whatever the final, final MSQ threat is. (...Ultima Prime...?) I'd probably shed a tear or two if she randomly dove into the final battlefield and harnessed dynamis to become an anti-Endsinger hopeful rallying cry or something, lol.

Still disappointed Midgardsormr missed Endwalker. Throw him in there, too. We can say Ultima Prime was the thing that was temporarily imprisoned in Silvertear Lake; it'll work out. /half-s

I do think it would've been really nice for him to turn up for the Dragonstar parts of Ultima Thule, but I've realized he's a very awkward character to write into situations. Not only is it difficult to bring him up in scenes organically (you'd have a SERIOUS 'where were you during X scene' problem), but also because his best scene partners are in wildly different locations. Like, I'd really want some dragon-centric storytelling to involve one of the First Brood, but they're extremely hard to write into a location outside of their respective homes.

Most likely similar to Alpha and Omega, touring Etherys and learning about the world.
Her sisters however I don't think we will ever get to see.

I hope we will get a blue quest / side story from time to time meeting Meteion and seeing Bird-daughter grow and leanr things.....

But I doubt the current writers and devs would do that and they would rather just forget about her to rush into new stuff...
Since DT was so bad at "remembering" stuff we as players already knew (cure to tempering, solving the eternals / sphenes issues etc etc).

I think that only means that she won't sing any songs anymore that might mess up the universe.

I like this. Keep it ambiguous. Like seeing her briefly with a candied apple on a stick doing one of the holidays.
