I really do not mind other people pulling for me (well, I dislike it, but well. There are worse things).

But could we please go back to "I get the adds for the tank, I search tank, I bring adds" and stop the "I get the adds and run in circles"?

I had that three times today that DPS (or, in one case, a healer) aggroed mobs (yeah, I am working on using Sprint a bit earlier...) and then... ran away.

When asking if they could please bring the mobs they aggroed to me instead of as far away as possible (friendly. For real. Am good kitty)- I get silence. And the same shit the next pull again...

    I am tired of that...

Pulling ahead of the tank isn't anything new, but if you're being verbally abused then report them and move on. If it's a breach of ToS the GMs will do something about it. A forum thread isn't going to change anything about your dungeon runs.

I agree with OP. It's annoying and unhelpful when the dps goes ahead and pulls before the tank gets there. I wish people wouldn't do that. Did I miss the lesson in Hall of the Novice where the tank has to be Usain Bolt and go as fast as possible in every dungeon? It's totally between the tank and the healer how much the tank pulls and how fast they should go. Dps have the easiest job in the game and should just go along for the ride and chill out. It's a pity blacklisting people won't help. Personally I think it's a reportable action because it's aiding the enemy by trying to get yourself killed and make more work for the tank and healer, but I could never be bothered to actually report anyone. Please people, let the tank do their job and accept that not every dungeon is going to be over in world record time.

Having said that, despite what you have to say Jeeq, I've played extensively on EU, JP and OCE over the last 6 years and come across 95% patient and understanding players - especially on JP. For instance on Eu recently I've been in parties with tanks that were maybe new to the role, pulled one mob at a time, got lost a bit and everyone else just quietly got on with it fine. It's a tiny minority who spoil things by thinking they're more important than everyone else.

That's what I liked about WoW if someone was acting like an arse, you could say something to them. Here it's almost like they are baiting you to say something so they can report you for bad behavior.

BUT HONESTLY, the dungeons don't matter, the design is boring and built for people with Adhd and lack of commitment and time, so I don't even bother getting mad over it. This game isn't for an actual MMo experience, it's a storygame with the best roleplay features.

Just switch off your brain, and do a single aoe and you get aggro back. If they die its their own fault, don't feel obligated to save them from their own stupidity and lack of patience. Pull at the healers pace though, they ACTUALLY matter. You dont need to care about the dps, they are irrelevantt in the big picture.

I'm not a career tank, so I'm just speaking as a deeps, but I've always been a believer in the "tanks set the pace" and "you pull it, you tank it" schools of thought. So that's the way I play. If I pull mobs, it's 100% accident. I'm not running off being an ******* or whatever.

I'm really sorry to hear about your experience with other players where you're playing. You're welcome over on Crystal! People here are pretty awesome here.

I'm not gonna say the grass is necessarily greener here, I'm sure there are ******** here, but I run into toxicity so rarely I can't even recall the last time it happened.

It's ironic the amount of people calling you "toxic" after the things they said lol

In EU at least, 95% of people who rush past the tank stop before they facepull the next pack of mobs and 4% pull by mistake. The remaining 1% that play the game on I'm the Protag Mode I meet MAYBE 1 run out of 200, and sometimes it's not very clear whether it's due to actual malice, plain stupidity, or just a more innocent lack of knowledge about mechanics (eg sprouts pulling bosses in early ARR dungeons because that's what they've been doing on solo quests for hours). This has been always the case, since I joined the game around the end of Heavensward.

League of Legends levels of toxicity? Really?
I tried that game ONCE, and people were harassing me in a players vs bots practice match within my first hour of gameplay. There is no reasonable comparison.

I understand that anger and hyperbole go hand in hand, but come on now.
If you were complaining about PF, I'd get it since those ARE the salt mines in this game. But everyday DF content?

In any case, if you want to get back at the rare wannabe protagonist that's actually out to make things miserable for everyone involved, just go AFK when they pull the boss. "Oops, Amazon Package" is an invincible excuse and you'll get to see them go splat within 10 to 15 seconds. And of course, like people have already said, if you've been verbally harassed, file a report.

I'm a tnak main since the end of Stormblood on NA and most of the time i don't have that toxic be havoir, but if i get one and i ask them not to run ahead. Or the time i had a healre keep runnign away from me and i asked them to stop running or run to me. THey acted up and refused to heal so they forced a SMN to heal. (FYI this is before WAR had strong healing and when PLD healing was stuck to like 62 or 64 i forgot which level. And iw as in aetherchemical). So i jsut go "you pull you tnak or bring them to me especially if i tell them sorry gotta afk real quick to carry something for grandma then they run ahead they can't complain

Idk man, I do it because the game allows me to do it without any downside. And I honestly don't get what the issue is.

This 100%. If I pull ahead of you, on a job that has the tools to do so, there is literally zero difference in gameplay for you. You still just run up to the pack and press your aoe. Idk what OP is on about when they say they have to chase around to pick up the mobs. Huh? They are going to be neatly gathered around me, if anything this is more convenient to you, not less. My hp pool is also just an extension of yours. It's free mitigation for you. But if for some reason your main character syndrome stops you from picking them up anyway, don't worry, I only do this on jobs that can handle it. Viper with Bloodbath is basically immortal and Reaper isn't too far behind in survivability either.
I'm not immune to people telling me to stop, but it's really more the other dps and the healer I'm inclined to listen to. And before someone turns this into "bUt NeW pLaYeRs" idiocy like that cutters cry thread on the ff14 subreddit, just open your mouth and tell me you're new. Use your words, it's not that hard. Typing "First time, let's take it slow pls" isn't going to kill you, but it is stopping me and I'd bet most other players from rushing ahead.

I'm sorry, but dps players really aren't at fault here, it's the weird design choices SE kept making over the years. If Bloodbaths cd was shorter, we wouldn't need tanks for trash pulls at higher levels whatsoever, just like how Warrior doesn't need a healer for most normal content.
You can't blame the players for using the tools the game gives them. Until SE seriously rethinks dungeon design, this behaviour won't ever change.

About the "abuse" hurled at you... idk, it says you're on Lich. I was on Raiden for a year and never seen any of that or heard anyone in my reasonably large FC mention it. Sure, it could've happened to you, but like with the rest of your post I get the feeling you're blowing things out of proportion. If people are really throwing verbal abuse at you, surely you reported and blacklisted them? Idk, kind of a "screens or it didn't happen" situation for me.

As a tank if a DPS is running ahead of me, that means I'm going too slow. I try to pop sprint when I can get the full 20s out of it but of course that doesn't always work out. I just aoe the mobs to pick them up; a DPS aggroing a mob is only a problem for me as a tank if they run away with it. I can try to hit one that's out of aoe range with a ranged attack, but fighting the game's tab targeting is not always a winning battle, so... bring it to the tank. Please.
