7.3 No Update To A 7.4 Wishlist!

7.3 Housing Update is M.I.A. this round. We'll manage. Begrudgingly.

I think it might be fun to put together a Wishlist of features we want to see for 7.4! AND I'm talking CRAZY stuff!! What changes housing forever!! A breath of fresh air to the system!! Item slots, tardis, pillars; all cool! What else can we cook!? Imagination gone wild. No rules! GO! Leave the logistics to the Devs.

- Open World Homes. Want to live on the Steppe? There's a yurt for you!! What about in a Tiny Home with the Dwarves in Tomra?! No talls allowed!!

- Mobile Home. A mount that doubles as a housing instance. Can set it up in a fixed location and show your friends your caravan!!

- Roaming Minions! 20 Wind-Up G'raha just doing whatever!! Running around da house.

- Placeable Retainers / Actors. Perhaps add a feature where you can have them spam an emote! We have a few NPCs but an expanded version of that. Customizable!

- Build Mode UPGRADE. Tool that allows us to move the stairs, add floor tiles (LIKE, the physical ground beneath our feet), demolish walls. Change the spawn point. Reposition light fixtures. Complete control over the house box!

- Functionality Improvements. Market Board, Glam Dresser, Mailbox. Workshop. Add them. Oh, those things crash and break the game and that's why we can't add them? In the voice of Dear Modern "Fix It." People will use their house if they can engage with it.

-Inside items outside and Outside items inside. If I want a 20ft tall Namazu effigy in my house, that's my business.

- Door Locks. Add an option to allows anyone on your FRIENDS LIST into your house while simultaneously keeping the Door Locked. TBH this feels like the most feasible thing on this list.

- Island Prism for your House. Island Prisms are an amazing feature and absolutely should be applied to the rest of the housing system!! WHEN we get a slot increase, getting all those items together for a build will be backbreaking! WORTH, but backbreaking. This can save time and gil.

Those were just some thoughts!! WHAT DO Y'ALL THINK!! What are some of your ideas!?! Again, no rules. We're brainstorming + enjoying ourselves!

One reason I’ve always wanted an instanced housing option added goes along with your idea of open world homes: the ability to make a plot that looks like it’s anywhere in Eorzea! That could also lead to creating smaller (or larger) instances with custom homes like your caravan idea, or campsites or caves, etc.

The roaming minions like we have on the island would be fun too, and I’ve long wished I could place my retainers indoors and give them a lot more customization and action. And being able to put furnishings anywhere, inside or out, in general would be great!

Build mode upgrade would be a dream come true… maybe we get something like that eventually as they work on other interior design options. Even just more unique layouts would be appreciated!

Door locks seems like something we should already have. lol

Island prisms… yes! Bonus points if the ground of your plot becomes changeable, like the flooring in the interior! I’d like the ground to look different for each season!

My hubby had me try out ESO awhile back and the sheer variety of “housing” in that game blew my mind! I remember one of them looked like a little wagon/caravan.

No more lies and a proper update, I mean you can't even place items the way you want by using a Z axis and more.... I would suggest adding the possibility to bank the angles as well as rotating in a z axis as well possibility...

But I don't think the engine can handle that part well at all..

Funny enough.. Star Wars Galaxies, you could place anything any angle and later on in the game you could get items where you would be able to increase the limit of items inside the house so it went up to around a 1000-1200 if I remember right... but alas....that advanced technology has gone away the same way as the Allagans has disappered in FFXIV.

They don't even need to add some z axis if it's too complicated. Just allow us to put everything on lofts or shelves.

With the legendary “spaghetti code,” I truly don’t know if it would be easier for them to add a Z axis, than to reclassify all non-tabletop items as having counter placement! lol

But I do know that the game has to keep track of the vertical axis somehow, otherwise the floating trick wouldn’t work.

I am almost certain that they will never fix that unless the introduce another way to do it as it would break so many homes people would not be happy
