Plenty of other mmo's have this option. I don't see why it would be an issue for 14

Because they probably have the pvp actions set in some weird way no other developer would. You have more faith in their prior choices then I do. Thats why I think it would have to be set areas.
Once again blacklisting own't solve much if they can jsut do it to OTHERS. Just becuase one person has them blacklisted doesn't mean they can't spam it to others.Duel trolling in FFXIV isn’t really a big deal... you have to manually accept the duel which has a timer OBV, and if someone’s annoying, you can blacklist them instantly. Problem solved. The system isn’t the issue trolls are, and they’re easy to shut down in this game

I get what you're saying - nobody wants another way for people to spam or grief others. But i think the concerns about abuse are being overstated here. Right-click duel requests wouldnt be any more intrusive than current features like party invites, trade requests, or friend requests - all of which can be blocked, declined or disabled with a quick toggle or via blacklisting. If someone abuses those systems, its reportable. Same would apply here. In fact, this could easily be implemented with safeguards - like a "block duel request" toggle in settings like ive mentioned earlier. That way, players who dont want duel requests never even see them. The point of the feature is just to streamline a social/competitive interaction that already happens - but I think a lot of people are missing how buried that is, especially for newer or casual players. Yeah, dueling exists at Wolves’ Den, but it’s super easy to miss. It took me a long time to even realize it was a thing. A right-click duel option would make it way more accessible - you wouldn’t have to teleport or go out of your way. It helps casual players discover and enjoy PvP without jumping through hoops. It's not just about convenience — it's about making PvP more visible and approachable. Most MMOs with dueling have this kind of feature and manage fine, because its opt in and respectful by design. Its not about spamming or forcing duels - its about convenience and fun for those who want it, with ZERO impact on those who don't. So ye - i think with how they build it up, this kind of feature adds a lot without taking anything away.![]()
Then my suggestion. find people to meet up with in a group to do some pvp fun

What does this even mean? It's their responsibility to blacklist for themselves, not yours.
To all the people posing these hypotheticals regarding trolls... has anyone ever spam requested you in town to play Triple Triad? What makes you honestly think this is going to be a significant issue?
This would be so much fun honesty. A way to revive overworld and PvP. Imagine dueling with your friends for some map loots or just for fun in some exotic location. A lot of RP potential too.
