Which is as it should be. However, no one has been able to give me any compelling reason for why in this particular case SE can't both have their cake and eat it too. If I accept that the data conversion takes one month then that is the maximum amount of time the game would needs to be down, as in we cannot play our existing characters and save progress. Seems like a lot of people are coming around to my opinion that it is likely that period will be more like 3 monthat at least.

Someone would have to be 3 kinds of stupid to subscribe this long due to the promise of 2.0, then never come back once 1.0 goes offline. I mean would anyone honestly pay monthly to wait for a game, then decide they can't be assed to wait for free? LOL. I'd say the game is better off without morons wouldn't you?

I for one am really enjoying the game as it is now and I have been ever since I started playing it seriously about a year ago, if I had not been enjoying it, I would not have started to pay when the subscription fee was introduced. In that case I would simply have stopped playing to come back when the 2.0 free trial came around.That does not mean i believe people who made other choices stupid though, I try to avoid name calling.

As for the wait I don't care because ill be playing GW2 til 2.0 comes out.

I'll also be playing GW2 during the downtime, and beyond likely. One of the few chances to have what i think will be 2 very quality MMOs for a single low cost Sub (yay legacy).

Despite the hate for any non FF MMO that tends to bubble up i've never felt the need for any MMO i play to be of a certain type or style. it just has to be entertaining to me. Besides all the real life stuff to do, theres plenty of games to get my fix on with ^^.
