What even is this genderlocked nonsense again?

I should've known better than to expect SE to give male characters anything better than yet another iteration of Just Slacks™, but seriously, what do they have against men in shorts?
I was really excited when that blue and white outfit was shown during the live letter, but I guess that was my mistake for believing they wouldn't ruin it with completely unnecessary gender differences like they do every single piece of interesting leg gear.

man, why do they even bother with the forced pants? seems like more unnecessary effort for something way fewer people will use than if they just kept them the same between genders. especially when we already got two pairs of pants recently that look basically the same with the thigh strap, only better...

They could be separate items but if they are indeed genderlocked then that is unfortunate. You should always have the choice of which version you want to use.

This was unnecessary.

Someone in the item department has to have something against men in garters and stockings. Because every time a female character gets something is a garter and a stocking, men don't get it.

I honestly wish it's two separate pieces but I guess we won't know for sure until the patch releases...

As a player of both male Au Ra and female Au Ra, gender variations of gear bothers me for both. Not only because I want to put shorts and more revealing clothing on my male Au Ra to show off his muscular body and beautiful scales and the bright red skin color I gave him, but also, and equally important, because I want to dress up my female Au Ra more modestly. It annoys me so much when I see mid/long pants on the item preview, and then I try them on her and it's actually a mini skirt or booty shorts that barely cover anything.

It also doesn't make sense that the gear design team uses resources to create two separate pieces but then restricts them by gender, locking half of the playerbase out of it. Specially when the male counterpart seems like an aftertought and doesn't match the original design (like the Tycoon Tights).

Please stop making gender variants of gear. Give us both options, both masc and femme, and let us wear what we prefer freely without restrictions.

Chiming in for the first time on the forums to also voice my disappointment in the gender differences of the gearset.

It's strange that they have been retroactively ungenderlocking outfits in the Online Store, and still go through with frustrating design choices like this. I would love if the pants and shorts were both included so that way players can choose either or to dress their Warrior of Light in. Give more freedom and choices rather than locking people out of clothes, especially in a game that encourages fashion!
