appreciate the developers efforts in trying to make a more streamlined experience for those new to final fantasy and to this type of game however i do feel like key functions should be revisited and addressed.
below i will list examples and my thoughts:
-Travelling: while it is nice to walk or sprint on occasions i do think its a bit much to keep mounts out of players hands for so long i think they need to remove the restriction for the chocobo's instead of level 10 it should be reduced to level 5 and owning a mount especially if paid for thru the store shouldnt be tied to obtaining the chocobo companion this should be removed further more we should be given a mount without needing a rank it should be issued to us simply by joining a company not something made to be earned thru a very annoying method of grinding for currency.
-Combat: i don't believe there is any good reason why some jobs should not have access to things like gap closers, stuns/paralysis, movement speed buffs, damage mitigation, ranged abilities, AoE(area of effect) skills, very early on and i hope this addressed in the planned 8.0 job/class changes going forward. you should want new players to feel what to expect as they make progress thru the game at their own pace.
an feel this would introduce them to how their kits would function at endgame etc.
-Questing: should definitely reward more exp and more gil and it should be fun above all else they should revisit some of this an make it more interesting so players won't loose interest or just skip to the end etc.
other misc.: all jobs should be playable early on as well and in fact should be available after the player obtains their first job stone at level 30 this is way over due an would be a great way to reward players for their time.
i am glad flying and swimming was added but their are still some areas i feel could do with having more swimming capabilities thru out ARR and onward. it shouldnt be limited to just housing areas or a single beach front etc.
lastly, teleport fees should be drastically reduced if accounts are only one month old etc they way they could do this i feel is if they gave new players a persistant buff that is always active until they pass that threshold of a normal patch cycle (usually 3-4months)
then the status would be removed upon next login after that cycle has ended etc.
the reduction should be 50% waved off on teleport fees this would allow players to focus more on progression and gearing up as they'd have enough gil to make it thru most of ARR
