    Making Base classes Playable?

The kid and I have often lamented the loss of ARR class system. For a short 2 years we had cross class skills and unsoul stoned classes.
We were just wondering if it would ever be possible to go back to that and not have people be mad about it.
I'd still like to see gladiator being able to kick butt and still be able to heal like the guild master
Which I was able to crit heal for nearly 3600 hp on paladin before the cross skills were taken away.
Mostly we just want something that feels different without remaking the whole class.
This would breath some individuality back into this game.

Cross class lasted all through HW as well.

The problem with cross class actions came mainly from 2 directions, the first being there was basically 1 choice, there was no decision making involved in what you picked. Even in the scenario where a job could pick from whatever class they wanted to, there will be a best pick, mainly focused around doing the maximum damage, which will take up 5 slots, so that would be max for any job, but going up to the 10 for classes, you might have some spill over for more damage then it is just defensive things, especially if you can use them oGCD. Using cure is going to go to waste for example as, unless you have the MND for it, it is going to be too weak to even consider.

I also think you are misremembering how much you healed for. A Paladin, using cure is not going to heal for 3600 HP, crit or no in ARR. It just doesn't have the mind stat for it.

The things that make jobs feel different isn't by taking things from other jobs, it is by making their gameplay unique, having more interactions between their skills, which just wouldn't happen with cross class actions.

The other problem is that people didn't want to level a second or third job just to play their jobs at max efficiency, making them potentially have to level them all would just be an even worse version of that.
