Please confirm if there will be a 7.5 Ultimate before next Savage Release

(Even though 7.4 is about 5 months away, I thought this was a good time to post this with the Ultimate delay announcement being somewhat recent)


It would be really nice to know going into this last savage tier if there will be an ultimate tied to it. With the announcement that occurred in LL part 1 for 7.3, raiders were clearly disappointed with some even feeling they wasted time gearing and prepping for content that wasn't coming out. I understand committing to a date right now could break expectations again (ex: DSR delayed twice), but it should be known by 7.4 LL if the ultimate will be delayed to 8.1 or not.

The last tier is normally not tied to an ultimate, so I feel that hiding this information for a boost in "engagement" with the content isn't worth burning the community again. Let players have proper expectations of what to expect with the final set of floors. Let players "play other games" if they don't want to prog a savage tier with no ultimate.

the worst part is neither side are happy either like raiders just got Shafted casual get well mostly shafted but feel like DT have been... wait allow me to correct myself just horrendous overall poor story content being weirdly released like I think that right now there is so many fixing needed that they have no clue what to do. remember they promised a new deep dungeon beast master and even variant. Yet we haven't seen variant and OC FT is a mess pushing casual away of it and raiders annoyed because casual get in.


I was excited for OC not gonna lie I think field op are a good middle ground for both casual and hardcore and often turn some casual to hardcore like in Bozja and zadnor have done. but OC isn't able to do that due to how well insane FT is and if a wipe happen well wait need time the weather happen.


FT to me should have been like Castrum and dal from Shadowbringer and then have a harder version that you can que outside with a group the limitate Rez and everything FT is

They said the other Ultimate is currently in the works. Given there is probably a year and a half until the next expansion, it would be odd for it to take longer than that.

I think the reason the other one got delayed was because of Covid and the delayed assets and challenging conditions they had back then, combined with them being busy with MSQ development. Since then, they've been hiring battle designers like crazy as well, and are even hiring them right now.

I think the reason they usually don't do it after 7.3 is because that's when the development of the next expansion actually begins. They start making all the leveling dungeons, zones, models, and so on, so their team can be too stretched to focus on that. But with the increased amount of time for an expansion, people being used to covid now, and the increased battle designers, hopefully it won't take that long this time.

I would not be surprised at all if Dawntrail is a one ultimate expac

Because 7.3 includes all the 7.3 patches (7.35, etc), that means if they already said there is no Ultimate before the next Savage which is on 7.4.

If I'm understanding though, they will have the Ultimate in 7.5 (my guess is 7.51) instead since it's stated there will be an ultimate., so it will be at the end of expansion this time. That might not be such a bad thing, it does give people something to do, and last expansion was considered somewhat a draught with a 6.5 series with not a lot to do but a lot of time until Dawntrail. So by saving a lot such as ultimate for the 7.5 patches, they could be avoiding that.

The trick is, they did not specify when. We are talking about ff14 devs, their schedule for 7.5 is already packed with "oh we are so sorry" = two raids for next zone, the zone itself and usual an extreme trial, final dungeon, more story quests/probably some side quests, third alliance raid, might be third planet for doh/dol?.

And before that i think yoshi said criterion for 7.4 patch?

Sorry, I just can't see how underfunded cash cow can fit ultimate in 7.5. Yeah, next zone might have just normal/savage version of raid with not much difference between them, criterion might be rewarmed to have way less paths to complete it and work like deep dungeon with boss affixes for savage mode.

But there is 8.0 coming kinda. The only way i can see them fit ultimate in 7.5 - delay 8.0.


8.0 will have 2 ultimates just like endwalker had 2 - by getting delayed one in 8.1

We haven't heard more about beastmaster (though that was always thought it would be 7.5 with BLU updates) but they did mention in the last LL that they were working on Variant and Criterion for 7.4
