I like the deep dungeon content. I do, but I feel there are ways it could be improved, or added to. These are a few of my ideas:
Different shaped rooms and corridors
In my opinion, the way dungeons are formed at the moment make each foray into the deep dungeon very same-y. They're very square shaped. The new deep dungeon's openness helps with this feeling, but I feel that adding variants to the rooms and corridors could help add some spice to the gameplay. Perhaps have some corridors that are longer and more winding? Have the corridors twist and turn, instead of just being a straight line. Maybe we could have some special rooms too; some big, some small. Perhaps rooms with special effects and interactable contraptions? Imagine finding a room where if you complete a puzzle that could be randomized, you win some treasure, or some special buff?
Different enemies and behaviours
The way that enemies act at the moment is fine, but maybe we could add some extra things to help thing be more interesting. So far, we have enemies that stay in the same room, and enemies that roam. Now, for me, the roaming enemies are the interesting ones. I like how you can slowly creep behind them, and hide in small openings in corridors to hide from them. Perhaps we could add to this? Maybe have random rocks or walls appear in certain rooms to help stay out of sight if needed.
Now imagine if there was an enemy type that hunted you. Just as with the gloom, perhaps sometimes a monster would spawn that would try to hunt you down. It would only aggro if you enter it's line of sight; a cone of sight in front of it. Now, you could use these rocks and crevasses to stay out of sight of this monster. The aim of this floor would simply be to find the exit, which on this special floor would already be open.
These are just a few ideas I had. What about you all? What ideas do you have that you would like to see implemented?
