I totally disagree, I feel it's the exact opposite.

The real problem are tanks soloing the boss while the rest of the party is dead. And that's often because of a mistake the healer makes. A Phoenix Down to bring back the healer seems like the best solution available, and reduces the solo tank problem.

Gonna be a whole lot of them that "forgot" to bring Phoenix Downs or just don't care to "waste" them on randos that should have stayed out of bad.

That's why I believe we *SHOULD* be able to acquire Phoenix Downs through Grand Company seals.

If the Phoenix Downs cost nothing other than some traded-in old gear, GC seals would be the perfect way to keep stocked up on the item.

I definitely believe that they need to be super accessible for this item to work properly. And it has to be cheap.

I feel like too many people aren't reading threads and are just assuming crap instead of checking the sources.

No, 8-player raids will not utilize Phoenix Downs. No, they're not taking away RDM raises. No, they're not doing this to increase damage output.

It was painfully clear from the Live Letter that this is for casual content only.

It has already been said by yoshi p himself there is a very high chance smn (and by extension rdm) will lose the rez in 8.0 and they almost lost it for 7.0. This would absolutely help the "issue" of those rezzes being useful in normal content but cause a "rez tax" for higher end content. Its only 4 person content *for now* who's to say it wont be extended into normal trials and raids. I think its actually very likely this is the reason they are doing it but only time will tell

Hello! To clarify, since The Final Verse (Quantum) is considered part of the deep dungeon, there will be no item level restrictions. Players will enter battle using the aetherpool gear enhanced through Pilgrim's Traverse.

So Quantum is considered part of deep dungeon so it seems more likely that Phoenix Down will be available in there.

While I do think this is an excellent addition to an item that is considered obsolete, since tanks now have more versatility in their contents, would this not further diminish the role of healers?

That's very unfortunate. I was really hoping the devs would give us an alternative way to earn Phoenix Downs.
